The Rust Belt whites who voted Trump don’t give a DAMN about conservatism and RINOs. They want what Trump promised. A Wall. Repeal and Replace. Bring jobs back (that will force companies to reduce profits because they are paid more than Chinese). That’s what they care about, and that third item is absolutely NOT conservative. Neither are they.

Trump did not run as a conservative...Trump ran as an American, for America...While the FC is more conservative than the Ryanites, I do not believe they have the best interests of the middle class Americans at heart...Just look at the people and groups who fund them...Follow the money...

Trump IS reducing the size of the Fed gov't...Trump IS bringing jobs back to America...Trump IS cutting regulations...Trump DID start up the oil pipeline...Trump IS going after illegal aliens...Trump DID end the disastrous TPP...In just a short couple of months...

The groups that support the FC are big on immigration reform and we know what that means...They are also big on unfair trade like the TPP, WTO and NAFTA...

Trump said all during his campaign that no one would be left without healthcare (if they want it)...And he said the gov't will pay for it...We all know that...And we voted for him anyway...

Most in the FC want to eliminate Social Security and Medicare along with all social programs...Trump campaigned against those ideas...Trump is doing exactly as he said he would do...

“Trump ran as an American, for America”

Correct...yet somehow the Freedom Caucus members think that they alone elected Trump. They surely were a big reason he won North Carolina, but there is no other state that they can make that claim.

Trump won the election by winning Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania; all of them except for Florida, made possible by Reagan Democrats. And their real favorite candidate, Reverend Cruz, would have lost the election by 8:30, when Florida was called.

Trump has already done or started giving them 80% of their Christmas list. They, as a group have benefited more than any other, from Trump’s election.

Yet, here we are reading how President Trump lied to them and turned his back on them and is ignoring them. In American politics, I have never seen so few get so much and be so angry!!

In the end, it’s about governing. It’s exactly the same as other tactical truths, like “it doesn’t matter what your positions are if you lose.”

If you lose, the other guy’s positions become law and you are forgotten.

One can even go so far as to point out how much luck is involved. Someone runs a campaign and runs on this or that. Then the election turns out to be a WAVE election, sweeping not just that person in to office, but may also some other candidate from a neighboring state — in which that candidate ran precisely against what the first guy ran on.

THAT is how meaningless positions can be.

In the end, it’s about governing. Firebrands on both sides mostly are generating book sales and speaking fees. If you have a majority, you have to govern, and if you don’t govern, you won’t have a majority long.
