Donald Trump slams Freedom Caucus on Twitter, says Democrats will ‘make a deal’
Global News ^ | March 27, 2017 | Kevin Nielsen

President Donald Trump continued to nurse a grudge against the Freedom Caucus as he lashed out against the ultra-right wing of the Republican Party on Twitter Monday, while also promising cooperation from the Democrats on health care.

Earlier Monday, White House spokesman Sean Spicer suggested Trump might turn to members of the Democratic Party to overhaul Obamacare and the U.S. president seconded that notion on Twitter Monday night.

Trump said the Freedom Caucus of the GOP, known as a particularly right-wing segment of Republican lawmakers, snatched “defeat from the jaws of victory” after Trump-backed health care legislation was pulled off the table on Friday in an embarrassing moment for the party.

Democrats won’t agree to anything other than moving to single payer.

At one time Trump supported that. Perhaps he still does.

You are dreaming. They’ll agree to “clean” Obamacare fix before the mid terms. More money, etc. All the nasty stuff we hate about it still in it of course.

NYT is saying that Republicans are meeting behind closed doors to draft a compromise bill with the Freedom Caucus involved and the moderates in the GOP involved. Sounds like all the celebration on the left may be premature.

This country has NEVER let people die in the streets NEVER!!! There have ALWAYS been safety nets WITHOUT premiums and deductibles going up MORE THAN 500%!!!! This WAS about distributing wealth or middle class!! People who were ALWAYS responsible to have health insurance NO LONGER have health insurance, and the people who were NOT responsible enough to have health insurance NOW HAVE health insurance!!! These folks who did not have health insurance are NOW going to the doctor for EVERY DAMNED sniffle driving OUR costs through the roof!!! I had to see a neurologist a couple of weeks ago I had a very small type seizure at work if I had not been at work I would NOT have gone to a doctor but they called the EMT’s!!!! Well I went to the neurologist so I asked at the desk how much was the office visit, $300.00, so I ask if I pay cash for the visit how much would it be, $75.00, I PAID CASH, I mean REALLY I know there are costs attributed to insurance paperwork BUT $225.00, I DONT THINK SO!!!! My General MD is the same $200.00 insurance billed $60.00 cash!!! I very seldom go the the doctor but I ask EVERY time how much if I pay cash!!!!

I’ll be curious to see how many conservatives in the Freedom Caucus defend our current deficit driven trade policies.

Trump you’re only in that office because of conservatives like me. Burn us at your own peril because you don’t have no wiggle room.

Total delusion. Trump is POTUS because he won the rust belt. Not thanks to holier than thou “conservatives”.

[This is a mistake with long term consequences.]

PRESIDENT TRUMP, cardinal rule of the ART OF THE DEAL:
Remember who put you into office. We the People are the Freedom Caucus.

You already made the liberal deal, RyanCare was sent packing. Now about the conservative deal?

‘course, with business negotiations, it is quite possible a ‘bipartisan’ deal will be more conservative than the supposed ‘conservative’ plan.

RyanCare was built for an Obama signature.

So a mere 30 or so Tea Party conservatives of the 535 idiots in congress have all the power.

I wish.

Very disheartening.

It’s the freedom-loving conservative who is the President’s friend and ally, yet he bashes and blames us while at the same time playing nice (at least in public) with Ryan and the RINOs.

Is there undue influence from the ultra-liberal Duke and Duchess of the West Wing?

I just don’t get it.

If Trump doesn’t understand that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes, then he might unthinkingly do the following.

Trump may unthinkingly help to unconstitutionally expand the unconstitutionally big federal governments powers even more with Trumpcare. And if that happens then, after Trump is out of office, we’re ultimately going to wind up with something even worse than unconstitutional, broken Obamacare under the next corrupt uniparty president imo.

Corrupt federal politicians buying votes from the poor with unconstitutional freebies like healthcare might as well be a scientific fact.

Agreed. Donald skates on thin ice with We the People when he attacks those who have made an effort to sincerely represent us.

He met their initial demands and they immediately asked for more.

What initial demands were those?

I happily voted for him, but attacking conservatives — who almost unanimously supported him — is not only stupid, but will alienate his most supportive base.

Yep. I hope that there's a happy ending to this, and it better not be the left that's happy.

Making the deal:

Don’t ever be afraid to push back from the table and walk away. If this can be hammered home to the Republicans of all stripes, by the simple expedient of walking across the aisle and talking to their rivals (with which The Donald would just as quickly push back from the table and walk away from, should they not want to play by his rules),then the Republicans could still have a shot.

No one deal is the only one, or the final one, until it has closed.

Really? Have got a whip count on their bills? Maybe if they spent less self serving time on TV and more trying to get support for their bills from their colleagues we would have an alternative to Ryancare. Unfortunately, we don’t.

You're full of crap. More of the GOP MODERATES opposed the Ryancare bill(it was TOO "conservative")than did FC members. The problem with the GOP is the GOPe.

Trump is going to rue the day he sided with Goldman Sachs, the Chamber of Commerce, the GOPe, and the 'Rats.

What Trump is saying is exactly what Jeb Bush said: "I can win without the conservative base." Keep it up Trump and your next rally is going to be just you and the hall janitor.

And again,

You’re Not His Base. You’re not who put him into office. Most of you voted Romney and he didn’t get into office.

His base are white guys in the Rust Belt who have been screwed and who were promised by him that he’d help them — mostly by demanding that companies bring jobs back and hurt their profits. THEY PUT HIM INTO OFFICE. Not you.

They voted for Obama twice. He is a populist. He is the only one who could have beaten the Hillary machine, and he did it despite the Access Hollywood tapes.

Hardcore conservatism loses now. It’s popular post election to sneer at demographics and point out that whites are still 70% of the vote, but they were in 2008 and 2012 too, but Obama won those elections.

The Rust Belt whites who voted Trump don’t give a DAMN about conservatism and RINOs. They want what Trump promised. A Wall. Repeal and Replace. Bring jobs back (that will force companies to reduce profits because they are paid more than Chinese). That’s what they care about, and that third item is absolutely NOT conservative. Neither are they.

I should have hit the snooze one more time.
