Utah has been solidly Republican at the presidential level for the past 48 years. But the leaked tape of Donald Trump bragging about groping and kissing women without their consent may have been the last straw for socially conservative voters in this heavily Mormon state.

Now, Trump's support in Utah could be collapsing, according to a poll conducted after the Trump tape was released. It shows both Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton drawing just 26 percent support.
"A lot of Mormon voters view Donald Trump unfavorably given all of the previous information that they had, and this just proved to be a tipping point where they finally said, I can no longer vote for this man," said Quin Monson, a political scientist and founding partner of Y2 Analytics, the firm that conducted the poll.

The Deseret News, a newspaper owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hasn't weighed in on a presidential race since 1936, but on Saturday, it published an editorial calling for Trump to drop out.

The LDS church leadership supports open borders, illegal immigration. No way they ever supported Trump since early on he said he would build a wall and deport illegals.
Not all Mormons support open borders and illegal immigration but the leadership in SLC sure does.
Privately I have had many Mormons tell me they are voting for Trump, even since the tape came out. Of course those I know don’t live in Utah so possibly those in Utah are more inclined to vote the way they are told.
Their moral posturing covers up their reality that they are only about Money. Half of Vegas is Mormon owned. And Wendover isn’t making its cash from northern Nevadans.
They will follow the crony road with Hillary.
They are corrupt.

It is very much in play. Poll yesterday had Trump and Clinton both at 26%, McMullin at 22% and Johnson at 14%. I know a lot of people in Utah and it is very much in play with the LDS. Ex LDS are either Clinton or Trump.
