High levels of chocolate consumption might be associated with a one third reduction in the risk of developing heart disease, suggests a study published online in the British Medical Journal....
The findings confirm results of existing studies that generally agree on a potential beneficial link between chocolate consumption and heart health. However, the authors stress that further studies are needed to test whether chocolate actually causes this reduction or if it can be explained by some other unmeasured (confounding) factor....
They analysed the results of seven studies, involving over 100,000 participants with and without existing heart disease. For each study, they compared the group with the highest chocolate consumption against the group with the lowest consumption. Differences in study design and quality were also taken into account to minimise bias.
I got this chocolate Monday. It's very good.
It must be true that the calories in chocolate aren’t harmful....whew!
Me, too!
Thanks, Pete!
I have the heart of a LION! ;)
"The studies did not differentiate between dark or milk chocolate and included consumption of chocolate bars, drinks, biscuits and desserts."
"Biscuit" is a cookie for you yanks.
On the other hand high ingestion of sugar in that chocolate will cause obesity and diabetes. MODERATION is the key word missing.
I’m not obese I watch my weight like a hawk, but have a digestive disorder, NO FIBER, diet is protein and carbs. So I have to do sugar readings every morning as Gastropresis usually ends not just with your bowels shutting down, but you turning into a Type 2 Diabetic and all the health issues it brings.
That's a good thingfor dark chocolate contributes to kidney stones. Chocolate is off my menu for that reason.
Indian Gooseberry linked to heart health
Wow! (I see a lot of carmel and other fillings here!)
I suspect she was pretty popular at this party!
Well, either way...or, both!
Dots... I liked dots, and slow pokes.
A trip to the tropics.
And I don’t disagree with this. Give up high glycemic rice and switch to healthy (dark) chocolate, in moderation, of course.
It actually looks pretty good. (Bet it doesn’t taste as good as chocolate though.)
