'If you take my spot, I'll get drafted, I'll go to Vietnam, and I'll die: Hillary recounts being yelled at by room full of men as she prepared to take law school admissions exam Clinton revealed she was one of the few women in the room that day The men said 'You don't need to be here, there's plenty else you can do' That was one of the moments Clinton realized she needed to control her emotions so she could focus on the test She realized this protection now might make her seem 'walled off', adding that women are 'seen through a different lens' then men
It was as she sat in a large classroom, awaiting to take the admissions test that would allow her to attend law school, that Hillary Clinton learned to control her emotions. The future Secretary of State would attend Yale Law School the next year, but on that day all she knew was this: a room full mostly of men were screaming at her. 'You don't need to be here,' they told her. 'There's plenty else you can do.'
'It turned into a real "pile on"', Clinton said in her revealing interview with Humans of New York. 'One of them even said: "If you take my spot, I'll get drafted, and I'll go to Vietnam, and I'll die." And they weren't kidding around. It was intense. It got very personal.' Clinton recalled noticing she was one of the few women in the room, remembered how nervous she already felt for the rest, how she 'wasn't sure how well I'd do'. 'But I couldn't respond,' she said of the men. 'I couldn't afford to get distracted because I didn't want to mess up the test.'

I think her allergies flare up when she is tempted to tell the truth, about anything, ever.
This is another lie just like her lie about being under fire in Bosnia. There has got to be somebody who can come forward and say they were there to give the true account.
She’d just say “I misspoke” and get a pass on it.
Or maybe it seemed obvious that it would be better for everyone that she should become a Marine, go to Vietnam and die.
Plea for sympathy vote and if women fall for this we need to revisit the 19th amendment.
I think you might be right.
Hillary supporters are complaining that she is being "swiftboated." Like Kerry, she is doing it to herself with all of the lies.
There is a grain of truth, there.
That is, both academia and the media pounded the lie into the heads of young men that if they couldn’t *avoid* (legal, by exemption) or *evade* (illegal) the draft, they were “going to be drafted, be sent to Vietnam, and die.”
They were immeasurably aided in this by a corrupt deferral system, that allowed enormous numbers of men to avoid service if they did so intentionally. That is, that they were made afraid, so that they sought to avoid military service, turning them against the war.
Some professors even went so far as to demand that their male students publicly protest the war in demonstrations, or that they would “fail them in class, so that they lose their deferment, get drafted, be sent to Vietnam and die.”
The truth was just the opposite.
To start with, only a percentage of young men were drafted. And they could tell if it was likely because they had a low draft number.
Second, of those that were drafted, only a minority went into the five combat branches of the Army, or the Marine Corps. The ratio of combat support and combat service support to combat personnel was about 13 to 1.
After branching, and graduation from basic training and the advanced course for their branch, the majority stayed in the US. The second largest group went to Europe and other destinations. The third group went to Vietnam.
South Vietnam was no homogeneously dangerous. There were “hot” areas, where combat was likely. But there were also “medium” areas, where combat was sporadic, and many “cool” areas where combat was rare. There was also the very large rear area, far more concerned with the random terrorist attack or violent crime. Even if someone wanted to go into combat in a hot area, they would be “bumped” if someone in that unit wanted to reenlist, on condition he stay in his unit. Many personnel reenlisted two, three or more times.
Though also uneven over the 20 years of the war, the total US killed was 58,148. As a first in modern war, slightly more than half died of combat injuries as compared to disease. Around 29,000. About 1,450 a year average.
Out of about 9,000,000 total who served worldwide during those years.
2,709,918 Americans served in uniform in Vietnam.
2/3 of the men who served in Vietnam were volunteers.
2/3 of the men who served in World War II were drafted.
Approximately 70% of those killed in Vietnam were volunteers.
No one has ever taken the media, academia, and the Democrat party to task over their lies. For political ends, they terrified an entire generation of men, caused the United States to forfeit a war, and abandoned an entire nation to tyranny.
This is for entry to Yale law school, not a bar exam.
Total horsesh*t.
Great description. Hillary does seem to have been everywhere, involved in great events. What an amazing life she has led.
People sitting for exams are concentrating on the subject and themselves.
No way would they take time to yell at someone else. It would break focus.
And we shall call this whine: “Snowflake goes to college.”
What a privileged, elitist, sexist snob. Quoting my grandfather: “She acts like the sun rises and sets just to shine on the crack of her ass.”
“She might be getting desperate as you say, but that will resonate with untold numbers of lesbians and feminazis around the country. And that includes female activist judges at all levels.”
She already has those losers in life, dead or alive, voting for her.
Ha! Dead or alive is right.
What a lie. I was in law school the same time as Clinton, and there was no longer a grad school deferment. It had been replaced by the lottery.
She got a LOT of publicity (via Life magazine) in 1969.
Was she being “picked” by the establishment as a “comer”
even then?

“In the LIFE archives, meanwhile, one finds tantalizing insights into the younger Hillary that never made it into the magazine.
“For instance. . . we learn that Hillary told reporter Joan Downs that press accounts of her commencement speech were vastly different from what she actually said because the speech wasnt written out and taped transcripts were unavailable until several days after commencement.
(snip)
“Another Balterman note in the archive, meanwhile, written in the photographers own hand, points to a less dramatic, if no less revealing, element of the photo shoot:
Had to go for nothing more than informal portraits, but should be some good expressions & hand gestures, etc., the note reads, before ending with a simple and, all these years later, somehow touching observation: Her glasses helped.
Illiarily is a pathological lying narcissist criminal.
Oh good grief! We all know this never happened.
I would never yell at her. I’d simply flip her off.
