More and more it seems a real possibility that Mittens might get into the race.
Rubio is a little shaky and The Establishment is getting a little desperate.
How would you react? If you encountered a neighbor you really liked, what would you say about this?
Would you vote for another Republican again..?
I will vote Bernie third party.
Romney will not get in.
This is fear mongering.
I know, “info wars” has it.
BTW, is Mitt’s dog still tied to the roof of his car?
Constitution Party.
This is stupid. Surely all or most of the filing deadline are long passed.
Hank
We know Trump is not a full pedigree conservative. So What? This is not just a Dog Show.
..........................................................
EXCELLENT. I agree!
Can you imagine Trump taking down the Bushes, Romney and the Clintons in the same election cycle? Now, that is wrecking ball.
The goal would be force a brokered convention and give Romney the nomination.
Charles Cooke of NRO on Twitter floated the idea of Romney getting as a third party candidate, splitting up the electoral votes and forcing the House to elect the President.
You summed it up nicely.
Won’t happen.
Romney won’t get it because he will get his butt kicked.
And Trump is far too popular for the GOPe to draft Romney at the convention.
But if they did put Romney in, I’d vote third party. And that means Trump if he is an option or probably the Constitution party.
I’m voting for Trump. I don’t care who else is running. If I have to, I’m writing in Donald J Trump’s name.
No.
That is to get a place as an Independent or third party on the November ballot.
for the primary here in pa i’m still in operation chaos registered dem vote for bernie this time. might travel to ohio at some point.
It won’t be good for Romney or the GOP if that happens.
I would think we'll be too busy preparing for life after total government collapse to have time to vote in November.
i don’t think deadlines for general elections have passed. if it is a brokered convention?
I am rather sure that the first states’ filing deadlines are the week after Super Tuesday. They then come fast and furious after.
Ballotpedia.com shows the data. To run for president as an Independent, or non-R or D, you need to collect 79,939 signatures in Texas before the filing deadline of 5/9/2016. It is the first state.
The rest of the states seem reasonably well distributed with KY, RI, and AZ being last, on 9/9/2016. Surprisingly, the amount of signatures needed varies widely but TOTAL to get on all state ballots is 926,263.
It is a slap in the face to the entire primary process to try to nominate someone who wasn’t even on the primary ballot with a dozen other names.
The party faces a revolt, though not likely violent, and the party ceases to exist as of that convention.
The legal infighting would be amazingly expensive, which Trump would win if he’s got both the most delegates and/or largest share of popular vote.
If the Republicans even try it, they will show that the party leadership is as bad as the Democrats and should lose any authority, position and job they hold as a threat to the Republic.
And a new political party will rise up, especially if Trump starts firing all the IRS people who prevented the Tea Party from organizing in 2012 by never approving their non-profit status, auditing major donors and leaders, etc.
Good point. Dole, McCain, Romney - the elites are three for three at failed selections for the presidential run. And the nation loses if they pick a fourth.
