When it comes to the never-ending quest to slim down, we’ve all heard about the success of the Atkins diet and eating Paleo. But one New York City chef used a far more revolutionary method to lose an astounding 94 pounds: the Pizza Diet.

Naples, Italy, native Pasquale Cozzolino, 38, moved to New York in 2011 to work at Midtown’s PizzArte, and he quickly packed on the pounds. The 6-foot-6-inch chef weighed a healthy 254 pounds when he first got off the plane, but his waistline expanded as he made efforts to familiarize himself with the city’s restaurants and turned to snacking to deal with stress.

Right. These headlines are sensational but shouldn’t be. You can lose 100 pounds eating ice cream and cake too. Eat a small bowl of ice cream and a small piece of cake and then starve yourself the rest of the day. Its very unhealthy but not many calories.

it lasted for a 3 years. keeping the weight off. how could it not come back/

up until six months ago, i lost 100 pounds the prior year just eating a lot less of terrible food again!!

it’s still off but it’s a battle.

i DONT LIKE healthy food.

and am i going to regret it if i get cancer or have a heart attack. sure.

but i still enjoyed those thousands of bad meals :)

it’s ashame. i ate old world italian until i moved out.

small amount of meat and some veggies, olive oil, garlic, fruit.

threw that all to the ind and ordered day and night for 25 years.

oh well.

It’s true. Generally. There’s something about eating the same exact thing all the time. I heard that back in the 80s (LOL When I was still thin)

But the MacDonalds thing happened when I was in college. I ate a 1/4 Pounder w/ cheese, a large fry (well, most of it) & a cherry pie every day for months & weighed like 125 pounds. It was usually the only thing I ate all day unless I ate dinner with my parents or somewhere else with a date.

I can’t bring myself to eat MacDonalds now.
I could eat Mexican food every day. :-( I don;t think that works the same way.

I could loose weight too if I stopped having so many intimate dinners for two, with just me showing up.

It is a struggle. I think I’m pretty healthy considering, but I would like to lose. SamAdams76 has been posting some about his past and current weight loss success. It’s an inspiration to me. I think it feels better to get into the routine of eating healthy, it just takes discipline to do it. The hard part is often just starting and keeping it up for a bit to get over the hump of the “pain” and get into the routine. I bought some salad stuff the other day. Think I’ll have some for lunch. :) Sounds good right now.

Congrats on your past weight loss. :)

It doesn’t take a lot of time to make most simple, Italian meals. I still eat mostly the same diet that my parents raised me on. I wouldn’t mind eating pizza a few times a day though.. :)

Not so much that, but if you restrict yourself to just one food, you will soon become so tired of it, that you will only eat enough to avoid starvation. Pizza, at least, has the advantage of being fairly nutritious (tomato, bread, cheese, plus any other toppings)

that’s great. My second generation italian friends eat great. third generation not as well. we are all in our 40s.

one group of friends speaks fluent italian and eats like the homeland, the others speak none and eat like americans lol.

it’s a comfort thing for me, terrible food. i know it. it’s just hard to change.

i see a McDonalds and my anxiety goes down lol.

the mind can be a very strange thing.

That’s the thing...one could have a lot of leeway with the eats, but would have to really up the activity level.
