If you're participating in today's Free Republic 2016 Caucus, please post any comments you'd like to make on this discussion thread.
As per the rules set up by DoughtyOne, only votes are allowed on the Caucus thread itself. That is to help D1 to quickly count the votes at the end of each 24 hour run.
Thanks, and let 'er rip!
Excellent mapping of the results!
Wow, 78 votes in a row without a single Grandstander! Looks like everyone’s following the rules, except for the few souls who think that this is the voting thread.
Thank you.
Top of the morning to everyone...
... Looks like the Trump voters might want to make arrangements for someone to get them to the right place on election.
You are onto something here. One of the new Iowa polls asked people their mode of transportation, car, etc.
Almost 30% of Trump supporters said none. 28.6% I think.
Zero percent of Cruz supporters said none.
Vote Trump
Hope they go to the right polling place on Election Day
:)
Actually the 2 threads are very different in the titles...
there should be no confusion...
Thank you for the 2 threads..
This is great..
I see that the “not valid” number has dropped, but the overall vote doesn’t seem to have picked up much. Maybe more posters will find the caucus over the weekend, especially if they’re stuck in the house due to Global Warming.
I wonder if the poll is skewing toward the west coast. There are an awful lot of votes before the east wakes up.
Vote Cruz
Vote Trump.
I just came to an epiphany this morning in reading Cruz supporter arguments against Trump (many veiled, but recognizable nonetheless).. Frankly, I’m tired of it and am not going to accepted the bullheaded intransigence most seem to addicted to.
I’ve been a campaign-long supporter of Ted Cruz throughout. I’ve never waivered from this in my postings. But enough is enough. I’ve decided there is something wrong with that side of spectrum based on how Cruz supporters here are acting. To be sure, Trump supporters are equally protective, but the level of rancor is not as extreme IMO. They won’t listen to genuine disgust with the status quo and peoples’ selections of Trump over anyone else. They just try to find some angle of attack and are vehemently nasty in their remarks with all sorts of mild epithets.
As of now, my vote in the primary here in Georgia will go to Trump, and polls indicate he will win here - I just cast my vote in the FR Caucus. Happy hunting Cruzers.
I agree with you. Some of the attacks on Trump (and Trump supporters) are very nasty. It makes me wonder how many of them are trolls trying to torpedo Cruz by pissing people off about him.
Maybe I'm just generally suspicious by now, but I wonder something like this often enough when I see oddly angry things online. I'm probably not the only one; there are terms for trolls like these.
I'm reminded of a joke, which I last saw recently in a thread on another site about something vaguely similar. The joke goes like this: A politician tells his opponent, "When I eat at a restaurant, I tip generously and tell them to vote for me." His opponent replies, "When I eat at a restaurant, I tip a nickel and tell them to vote for you."
I am a little out of practice stuffing ballot boxes.
Vote Cruz

God Bless you. I hope you have a better day.
I’ve corrected my mistake. I didn’t think it was worth asking the Admin Moderator to delete a rather meaningless post.
I see it too, as do quite a few others. It saddens me that many people who I count as friends, and others I admire and trust, are blind to how badly they're behaving toward their fellow conservatives, whom they think have either gone mad, or have gone to the dark side of politics.
I've tried my best to explain to many of them that this isn't a time for strict ideology, but a time for war. The country is in a shambles and holding on by a thread. We need a radically patriotic intervention to survive this mess - not a lofty, idealistic, political approach.
The hell with politics. The country is *this* close to complete failure and civil war. We need a Patton or a Churchill to lead us back to a place where we can resume solving our problems with politics.
That's why I want a bulldog for president. I want a hard nosed boss who has a demonstrated record of getting things done in the real world. I'm sick to death of Ivy League educated politicians who've never so much as run a hamburger joint, and who are responsible for every condition that is destroying this country.
"Insanity can be defined as doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result."
Screw the politicians - each and every one. I'm not insane, and I refuse to invest my trust in them any longer. I want to save my country.
