Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."
Looks like I’m not the only one who wasn’t up and going this morning. I got up about 5:30, fed the cats, and then went back to bed.
Aw...a dose of floof this morning! Pretty!
I’m here. 37, N @ 5, mph, 35%, wind chill 34.
*shudder*
My mouth wants a salad. How odd. It’s time for breakfast. Still...salad sounds good. I usually buy the little salads at Walmart and one will give me two meals. If I buy the lettuce and other fixings, I have a tendency to forget about them until they begin to grow their own cheering section.
We’re supposed to have a high near 70 today. Tomorrow it will rain.
I could use a high. Most likely I'll settle for oxygen again.

Well, that’s not exactly salad material, but for an early morning — something, it’s not too bad!
I’m going to go take a shower in my superheated bathroom. Maybe it will lower my BP somewhat, as it has been pretty high the last few days.
See y’all in 30+...
I think the one on the bottom is smoking something stronger than cabbage.
I’m going to make a shopping list.
white cat with purple cabbage is pure blissed out....
America was settled by Ikea.
Think about it, log cabins are made of wood, and some assembly, with simple tools, is required...
20°, feels like 15° here...
My shopping list is a work in progress. I’m out of ink, now. There’s not enough money in the world to get all the stuff on my list! LOL!
I just had a breathing treatment, and in a bit I will go put my name on the waiting list for an apartment. I dread that. It means that I have to move. Period. I hate that. If I wait long enough, housing will move me. That’s the only good thing about the move. But I sure don’t want to move a second time. At least the place I’m going to check out has covered parking.
*brrrrrrr*
No thanks!
*shudder*
My mother has had to move to uncovered parking while they try to fix a water-seepage problem in the garage.
How are you feeling since you had your thyroid surgery?
We don’t have covered parking here and it makes a lot of difference in the desert.
I’m sorry your mother is inconvenienced by that leak. Sometimes, when we are older, we get used to things that others consider luxuries, and it’s hard to adjust to something less, even for a short time. Been there, done that.
The last time I used a garage, was when Busdaddy and I lived in Northridge CA. We moved out and the entire complex was across the street from the epicenter of the Northridge earth quake. The complex was flattened.
I need to go to Walmart.
