Adele says Sarah Palin is directly responsible for her career as a singer.
Well, kind of.
Adele recounted on a BBC special Friday how the former Alaska governor and GOP candidate for vice president made an appearance on "Saturday Night Live" in October, 2008 during the height of the presidential campaign when Adele, then still relatively unknown, was the show's musical guest.
That was the episode where Palin and Tina Fey, playing Sarah Palin, famously acknowledged one another during the show's cold opening.
"It was one of the most watched SNLs ever and then it was two weeks before the Grammy ballot, which is when people decide what songs they want to maybe nominate, so, like, literally the stars aligned for me," she said. "The album shot to number one on iTunes and I was nominated for a Grammy and then I won one! It was a joke! It was a joke. All thanks to Sarah Palin!"
Upon hearing of Adele's story, Palin sent her a copy of her book "Sweet Freedom" with an inscription in which she said in part: "So ... rumor has it you recently threw me some credit for your amazing success -- very kind coming from someone like you."

I have never heard Adele sing. But I do find it interesting that she is so popular and the only thing she does is release albums. You don’t constantly hear about her as you do Taylor Swift, Beyonce, et al.

A big bump, to Sarah Palin.
(hope she ends up in the cabinet of President Trump)
Big time.

She’s not as prolific as Swift. Swift’s career is like a machine. Adele is more soul than pop. Swift is teeny-pop. Adele is moody teenager.

Then you don't know what you are missing. She seems to be a very good person, not too full of herself. There is a viral video of her going in disguise to a BBC-filmed audition of Adele impersonators, giving support and compliments to her co-contestants as they sang her songs. She “reluctantly” takes the stage and starts to sing. The look on the contestants' faces as they realize she is the real deal is priceless. If Sarah likes her, then that is more than enough for me to put her on my good list.

I do not think Swift has a good voice compared to others like Adele and Aguilera. A LOT of pop females sound the same, or they sound like they are copying Alanis Morisette.
It is interesting to research and see those who use Auto Tune and those who do not.

Just so you know, back then Adele was completely opposite of Sarah Palin’s view according to her own words.
I don’t know if that has changed since she has now made a fortune. Then again...Bono - UltraLib

I was talking more intended audience than age of the singer.

Taylor Swift is a brand. She’s popular, because she’s smart. She’s built an empire for herself.
Adele and Christina are genuine singers. Aguilera’s vocal range blows my mind.

Sarah should invite her to Alaska to learn about conservatism and how to shoot a moose.

"Just so you know, back then Adele was completely opposite of Sarah Palin's view according to her own words."I think she may have changed a little, I think she liked to smoke cigs a bit, and everyone giving her grief about her weight and then I saw her speak out against how much she was being taxed. Ya, she maybe maturing....

A fan of 60's crooners, she reminds me of Dusty Springfield that soulful almost torch singer, and what Dusty did sort of came and went. Adele is a visit but with even more soul.

Sarah Palin has always appeared a class act but I just had to laugh a little at the,
" -- very kind coming from someone like you." comment.
Almost as if Sarah was saying, bless your heart!
