Reversing Type 2 diabetes starts with ignoring the guidelines | Sarah Hallberg | TEDxPurdueU

Can a person be "cured" of Type 2 Diabetes? Dr. Sarah Hallberg provides compelling evidence that it can, and the solution is simpler than you might think.

Dr. Sarah Hallberg is the Medical Director of the Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program at IU Health Arnett, a program she created. She is board certified in both obesity medicine and internal medicine and has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. She has recently created what is only the second non-surgical weight loss rotation in the country for medical students. Her program has consistently exceeded national benchmarks for weight loss, and has been highly successful in reversing diabetes and other metabolic diseases. Dr. Hallberg is also the co-author of www.fitteru.us, a blog about health and wellness.

See my post #15.

I do have a tendency toward low thyroid function. That has been controlled by cutting out soy.

you most likely need to be on thyroid hormones which the lack thereof can definitely cause major weight issues. Part of supporting the thyroid also, is supplementing with minerals, mainly magnesium. Mag balances blood sugar.

“Lots of people who have never had diabetes would have to deal with it were they to not maintain their weight and a healthy diet.”

This true. You can also get rid of Type II by drinking Canary Seed Milk twice a day. It significantly lowers blood sugar and flushes fat out of your system. It is widely used in South America. Mr. GG2 and I use it. You will lose weight and lower your blood sugar if you do nothing else except drink the Canary seed milk.

Just google it. You can buy the Canary Seed powder at the health food store. You just mix it with water and drink it. It has a grassy taste. Not unpleasant. The doctor was a little concerned about Mr. GG2’s blood sugar level so after 3 mos on the canary seed milk it had dropped 15 points and he has had no problem since.

The Des Moines med school graduates Osteopaths, not MDs.

I'd rather go to an Osteopath.

‘There`s a lot of money to be made in keeping you sick...’, agreed. Where can I get this speaker`s guidelines in hard cover? I`d like to do some more research.

“Where can I get this speaker`s guidelines in hard cover?”

Dr. Sarah Hallberg has a Facebook page where she organizes seminars groups, and other activities.

Reversing Type 2 diabetes starts with ignoring the guidelines | Sarah Hallberg | TEDxPurdueU is the third in a series of posts which I am linking on FreeRepublic in the next several days. be sure to see the previous two videos list in Post 1 above, and stay tuned for the upcoming posts as well. I’ll be including videos on YouTube which feature a number of healthcare professionals, some of who are themselves diabetic and utilized a nutritional ketosis and a ketogenic diet as therapy for themselves and their patients. Some of the physicians comment on how it was not until their patients came to them and informed them about nutritional ketosis that they conducted research on the subject and adopted such diets for themselves. Many of these featured speakers have published one or more books on this and related topics, and some of them are going to be commented on in their videos. Stay tuned....

Dr. Jason Fung is a far better resource on this topic with lots of science to back it up. I just saw my internist for a checkup Thursday and he recommended Dr. Fung as a resource. I do not have diabetes but I’m pretty sure I have insulin resistance. I’ve watched 2 of his videos already and am very impressed. Hubby on the other hand watched the one on this thread. He was not impressed.

Just curious. What is/was your relationship to HFCS?

I found all my parameters got better for many things when I cut them out.

Would it work to substitute parakeet seeds as I have plenty of them? Seriously, will look into your recommendation for my wife and to some extent for me.

I don't really have a problem specifically with HFCS, but then again, I consume little to none of the products which contain it or did contain it — such as soft drinks. In fact, I abhor artificial sweeteners of any kind and if I really want sweetness, I'll use good old sugar — in moderation, of course.

The problem for me is overconsumption of total carbs. As long as I keep my total carbs under 100 I'm fine. It's not that one carb is worse than others.

Well that’s all it is parakeet seeds but you have to make sure you get food grade seeds or powder because the stuff they sell at the grocery store for the birds has silica in it. Not good for you. So do not do that.

The brand we buy at the health food store and you can order it from Amazon is Ibitta.
