Are College Fraternities the SAFEST Places for Women to Socialize?
Self | December 12, 2014 | PJ-Comix

Think about it. The left is constantly trying to portray college fraternities as being chock full of white guys who use their "privilege" to demean women to the extent of mass raping them. So how many such cases of college frat gang rape have been found? Try ZERO. The left had high hopes with the Rolling Stoned UVA frat alleged rape case but that fairy tale has fallen apart.

If there were instances of rapes at college frat parties wouldn't they have already been discovered and PROVEN?

Therefore I have to conclude that the safest place for women on campuses to be are college frats. One big reason why there isn't serial rape at such frats is that believe it or not there is a gentlemanly code of behavior (call it chivalry) that absolutely wouldn't tolerate rape.

If the left wants us to believe that college frats are dens of mass rapes, they are going to have to PROVE it. So far their attempts, such as with UVA, have completely failed.

Why NO? I haven’t read of any PROVEN case of rape at a college frat.

Being around drunken college frat boys is just not my cup of tea.

I prefer nerds.

Think about it, the drunker they are they less likely they can do anything. In any event, NO PROOF at all of mass rape in college frats. That is a leftwing FANTASY.

We all know what probably happens. The coeds go to bars or frat houses, get stinking drunk, and willfully go to bed with some slug who looked good in an alcohol-soaked haze. Wake up the next morning discovering they did it with The Creature From The Black Lagoon and promptly start an episode of self-loathing and anger.

I would assume many coeds get on with it and say never again. But a number are so mortified they cry rape. Not to excuse the slugs who got them liquored up, but unless the females were walked over to the frat house at gunpoint and forced to throw down copious quantities of alcohol, it's not rape.

If she is blacked out drunk, it is rape.

If she is blacked out drunk, it is rape.

But if the guy is blacked out drunk he can't do rape. Um, let's just say certain parts shut down when drunk.

It is sexual assault either way, but damn hard to prove in a court.

Especially, when the frat has a code of silence and girls who report rape, are usually cast out of their social group.

Stanford frat boy here, we’ve had countless parties and not one rape so no. 3 in my same class are even married to our sorority sisters from the same batch.

And yet NOT ONE proven case of rape at a college frat in years. Thus far it is all a leftwing FANTASY.

I'm not anti fraternity, and don't think they are the most dangerous, but any place with a bunch of drunk guys isn't a safe place, or arguably an appropriate place for a woman. It doesn't take much googling to find actual fraternity rape convictions.

Twin Falls man sentenced to 15 years for frat house rape

It is not a serious argument that a fraternity is safer than a student union, a library, or a restaurant. I hope people with daughters given them more thoughtful advice.

I was talking about this with my wife today.

The UVA rape hoax was so obvious.

I don't care what people think about frat boys, but no real "man" would stand by and allow a girl to be gang-raped on a glass coffee table.

ANY halfway decent man would have been absolutely OUTRAGED by his "brothers" doing anything like that.

And fists would fly over it. Guaranteed.

No.

There is a lot of unwanted sex at frat parties. My cousin was new to college and drinking, and had a bit too much, and was alone somewhere in the frat basement and someone had his way with her -— she was coerced but not forced, but it was definitely not wanted. She was naive and barely 18. Girls like that feel sickened and also guilty. They do take responsibility — they shouldn’t have been there, shouldn’t have been drinking. They don’t report it. But it’s still unwanted sex and might happen 100 times a semester.

The fraternity system has been under attack since I was in school (1969) University administrations do not like secret societies who choose their own members absent their input and control

“I don’t care what people think about frat boys, but no real “man” would stand by and allow a girl to be gang-raped on a glass coffee table.”

When I attended college in the 1970’s I never heard about a rape or gang rape at a fraternity house. I did hear about rapes and gang rapes in the dorms. I did hear about mature progressive grad students luring naive freshman females to their off campus apartments, plying them with drugs and having their way with them. I heard about minority minority athletes enjoying the white female population. I was very aware of very leftwing married middle aged tenured full professors hitting on female undergraduate students at private counseling sessions. Finally, most of the reported rapes of females students on campus, and in apartments near campus, were committed by young men from the low income community located next to the college campus. Come to think of it, most of the other crime (break-ins, robberies, assaults) in and around campus were perpetrated by members of that community.

I agree rape was not part of the fraternity culture. I never heard any fraternity member talk about rape being a good thing or hinting a group should take advantage of an inebriated female. It was my observation one night stands were infrequent, but consensual when they happened. Several times I was propositioned by females at the fraternity parties so I know for a fact there were female students who went to fraternity row expressly for the purpose of a casual romp in the hay with someone they barely knew or didn’t know. In those days most sex on campus occurred in steady relationships over months or even years. The fraternity men I knew would not have permitted the type of incident alleged to have happened at the UVA fraternity.

Finally, if rape and sexual assault is a major problem on campus, progressives should be endorsing proven methods of stopping it. Reinstitute single sex dorms with curfews and house mothers. Limit visitation with members of the opposite sex to public parlors. Put the professors and administrators to work chaperoning evening parties and social events. Eliminate drugs and underage drinking from the campus and fraternity houses. Prohibit students from living off campus and don’t allow students to bring automobiles to school. Let them learn to be good progressives by using public transportation. Report rapes by athletes to the authorities for prosecution and take away their scholarships when accused of sexual assault. Fire the lecherous professors. Take fellowships and grants away from the predatory grad students. Require attendance at Sunday worship services. Do all of these things and sexual assault will be virtually non-existent within the student population.

As to how to deal with the off campus sexual predators . . . .

Are guys safe from women in a fraternity?!? Seems to me women just threw themselves at you. I just had slow reflexes...

That was decades ago. I hear they are way more aggressive now.

As long as they don’t go alone, without a wingman, and don’t drink themselves into a stupor.
