A new form of cancer could be triggered by a type of breast implant popular with British women, scientists are warning.
At least 150 cases of the disease, called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) of the breast, have been reported, including a handful in Britain.
Nine in 10 cases of the disease a cancer of the immune system have been in women who have received breast implants with a textured outer shell, according to experts.

What kind of breast implants do the other 1% use?
99% of women in Britain have breast implants?
Other than the women who get the implants for a reason, such as a mastectomy, they simply DESERVE what happens next. If you can’t live with the body God gave you, then tough.
“99% of women in Britain have breast implants?”
LOL! I never thought much of British women to begin with, but if 99% need implants, then I wonder if they were born as women.
Maybe that explains the fact that the British population is declining like mad and their country will be repopulated by others within a generation or so.
So I guess according to you everyone who had braces or gotten a crown deserves to get oral cancer?
rofl...no, it says 99% of the women who have breast implants, that’s not 99% of the actual women....silly.
“So I guess according to you everyone who had braces or gotten a crown deserves to get oral cancer?”
Yep, you DESERVE what you get. Both my wife and myself could use braces (and we can easily afford them, even without insurance), but we take what we’re given. As to crowns, if it affects one ability to eat meat, then one MUST get crowns. If not, then it can be debated.
I’m JUST SICK of British Women thinking that increased mammary size will suddenly make them attractive. There’s more to it, starting with personality, and then politics.
Ahh, no one deserves cancer.
“Ahh, no one deserves cancer.”
One deserves what they get. If I jump off the Golden Gate, then I deserve what happens next.
100% of the women with this cancer drink water. 100% of them breathe oxygen. The press breathlessly reports this kind of nonsense without fail. In 1980 there was a post mortality study of pancreatic cancer deaths that showed nearly 90% of the victims drank coffee, which USA Today headlined with a huge story about the cancer risks of coffee. Once controlled for diet and alcohol intake [which was the actual cause] this "breathtaking correlation" disappeared.
Seeing an effect and noting a common point of intersection with a pre-event cause has a name: Superstition. Superstition isn't science, and government funding doesn't make it so.
I agree with you.
If healthy women put foreign objects in their bodies just for vanity and don’t expect it to affect their health down the line, then they deserve the disease.
Mastectomy is a different story.
I’m just curious why men don’t surgically install stuff into their bodies.
You're right.
Hence it follows that people who make completely asinine remarks about terminal illnesses on internet forums deserve to be viewed as ignorant morons.
You make an exception on dental work if it’s needed to eat meat? What if you were intended to be a vegetarian? Your logic is conflicted and massively flawed. We shouldn’t live in houses, drive cars, wear clothes, or work for money, either.
“Hence it follows that people who make completely asinine remarks about terminal illnesses on internet forums deserve to be viewed as ignorant morons.”
Agree...if a person does something AS DUMB as putting a FOREIGN OBJECT in their body for no reasonable purpose, then they are an ignorant moron.
No glasses either?
What a moron.
Based on your comments a Karma ass kicking is on the way.
“You make an exception on dental work if its needed to eat meat? What if you were intended to be a vegetarian?”
You don’t need functional teeth to eat vegetarian. Eating meat is the MEANING of being a human, at least on this site.
You missed my point. Re-read your posts sequentially.
“No glasses either? What a moron.”
I don’t know too many people that IMPLANT glasses. But if you mean Cataracts, then that is a MEDICAL NECESSITY, unlike most breast implants.
