Well, I sure screwed it up today I went to sit down on a chair that wasn't there and fell, now I can't move my legs and the ER released me saying nothing is broke so there is nothing they can/will do. No brace, no chair, no crutches, nothing. The doctor didn't even touch me, tell me to wiggle toes, take my temp, listen to my heart, nothing...just a CT scan and then let me go. I couldn't even get in the car without a nurse, 2 cops and a citizen who offered to help. I don't know what to do now, I can't walk :'(
This is of course concerning to me since I have a fused spine and ongoing issues. I'm calling my pain management doc to see if he wants to do something different.
Hope you feel better soon.
I did a little research and read that they have been using spinal chord stimulators for 30 years. This is good because it means they have the procedure "down". It is not new or experimental.
Your medical team doing a PT test is standard procedure. This is exactly what they should be doing to ensure everything goes well for you.
Continued prayers for you that everything goes smoothly and that you have a speedy recovery-Lord hear our prayers...Amen.
Sorry you are going through all this.
Thank you for keeping us updated - we do care.
Praying for a miracle — just try to relax — maybe the neuro-stimulator will “reset” things and you’ll be OK — but the worst case is that it won’t work, then you’ll be no worse off, than you are now and I am sure there will be something else. Thinking this way usually helps me put things in perspective — I hope it helps, otherwise we go down deep in the black hole of worry.
God will help you through it.
Keep the faith.
So sorry you’re going through all this. Prayers.
Continued prayers.
Joining with you all in prayer.

Getting your story on the local news can motivate action. I keep thinking of that family in NY whose infant was excluded from their Obamacare family policy. After scores of inquiries by the dad to customer service, once it got some press, voila! - it was corrected.
Unfortunately, it also probably came with an audit. But in your case, your main beef is with insurance, not the Feds.
Good luck and God bless. Prayers offered.
Prayers up.

Well, I got the implanted device yesterday. I have a few issues with it. Will talk to the reps to see if these can be fixed with the permanent one. If not, I probably won’t get the permanent one. It is buzzing in my tummy and not in my back. It is doing good for my legs, but is not doing ANYTHING for my right hip, whch is where the worst of my pain is. I itch like crazy where the vibrations are. My stomach cramps when I try to eat while the unit is on. My legs quiver when I try to go into the room or the bathroom...I have to use crutches for those 2 rooms. Wondering if the permanent one can be better programed to deal with those issues
I just hope the implanted devices isn’t running Windows
Dude. Our prayers are out there for you. Hopefully you can get the manufacturers rep to give you an answer you can live with.
Thanks for the update, dear trussell.
Sorry it is not working as well as hoped. Check and see if it could be adjusted while you are wearing the temporary one.
Did they do an MRI for your right hip or just an X-ray? You might ask to have them do an MRI — I knew someone who fell, just like you, and was in a lot of pain, doctors told him nothing is broken, but pain persisted, they finally did an MRI and it turned out there were some small fractures that either didn’t show up on the X-ray or the doctors weren’t paying enough attention to look. Once he stayed off his feet for a while, he recovered — but it took a long time before they found it, and of course while he was putting weight on it, it couldn’t heal. Maybe you injured it that way too since you fell, as you said, you sat down on a chair that wasn’t there.
If you have a major pain in a particular place, like your right hip, it would be worth investigating it further, if you can find an intelligent caring doctor and can persuade him.
Good luck with everything and keep us posted.
I hope that minor adjustments will make it feel better so you can get some relief. Kind of weird that it doesn’t help what it was supposed to, though.
Hmmm ... thanks for the update. Prayers continue...
