Knowledge is something that takes time to develop, so we need to start teaching the next generation now. In case God forbid, our children are left to fend for themselves or we are injured or even just to make your family more apt to survive, every child must learn these survival skills so they can pull their own weight and contribute as much as they can. If yourfamily learns now to be a well oiled machine, you will be more likely to survive any type of collapse.

You are welcome. I recommend the Edgepro because you can set it to the proper angle for whatever you are sharpening.

You and me both, Laz. I’m 71 and partially disabled; I usually need a cane to get around. Wife, six years younger, and I are totally dependent on prescription meds. We live on a zero lot, so there isn’t much room for growing crops. I only have two handguns and several hundred rounds for them. Living in the hurricane zone, we usually only prep for three or four days. Forget about escaping by car. I-95, the Turnpike and all northbound roads will be like parking lots.

My strawberries have multiplied to the point where I am seriously thinking I will take a few days late this fall and transplant some into separate pots for re-planting later next year. My apple tree has still not given any fruit for some reason, although I planted it at least seven years ago...

One of the best live squirrel/rat traps I know of requires a 5 gallon bucket, 2 gallons of water, a piece of steel wire or a steel rod, a plastic soda pop bottle and some peanut butter.
Put the water in the bucket, poke a hole at the top of the bucket and push the rod into it. Put the rod through the soda pop bottle, make another hole if the far edge of the bucket and feed the rod through it. Put a 1 inch wide smear of peanut butter on the bottle.
Then provide a means for the squirrels/rats to get up to the peanut butter. They will climb out onto the bottle to eat the peanut butter, the bottle will spin and they fall into the water and drown. They cannot jump out because their feet cannot touch the bottom of the bucket.

Sharpening knives takes about twenty time before you can do an acceptable job. Start practicing with an old knife. Intentionally dull it and resharpen it. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

Is that the tactical version of the wrist rocket? I think Trijicon is making a sight for it. I heard that, it sounds like a smaller ACOG (with bible verses and everything) that attaches to the arms with a larger recital with a plain red (or green) dot and no range finder. Of course the effective range on the tactical is only 30 yards or so. MSRP for ACOG for the $30.00 tactical wrist rocket starts at roughly $1,350.00 for black and $1,475.00 for desert camo. I'm looking at getting one. Also blackoppsammo.com has tungsten ball ammo with carbide points for $65.99 for a bag of 30. Cheapest price I've seen.

Did you hear the Justin Wilson story about the kid knocking squirrels of the trees with steely balls?

I have seen the prices for the ammo in the catalog, but can you actually find it on the shelves? I heard DHS is stockpiling it to prevent people from hoarding it.

Good parents teach the kiddies the benefits of the double-tap.
Caching is another skill. If yours don’t know, they’re pretty much screwed.
