Police called after woman sees kittens having sex in her yard
Sure, cats arent for everyone. But we cant remember the last time someone called the police to complain about a pair of kittens.
But thats exactly what happened in Wisconsin on Thursday when a woman called police after she reportedly witnessed two kittens having sex in her front yard.
As ridiculous as that sounds, its not the only recent time someone has called 911 to report on a cat. Back in February, a Washington State man called 911 to report on a stray cat that had wandered into his back yard. But, at least in that case, the man was calling out of concern for the cats welfare (it was cold outside), rather than to complain about its mere presence.
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department included the truly unusual call in their public list of request calls received. However, theres still no word on how the department responded to the unnamed womans call.
And besides, at least one Wisconsin law officials have said citizens shouldnt be too reliant on the service, saying waiting on 911 responders may no longer be their best option after budget cutbacks have delayed response times.

Yes, but “adolescent” cats can be making more cats, and someone might say “kittens” in error. There’s a reason they’re spaying and neutering so young these days.

I’ve heard them, too. My neighbor across the street is a crazy cat lady, and there are always kittens going on over there.

I hear you. My wife and I are trying to corral a pregnant little stray who comes around but she won’t let us get near her.

We have a male hanging out on our doorstep, “Mr. Strangecat,” who really wants to move in with us. (Our two are spayed and neutered.) I feel bad for him, especially when the weather is unpleasant, but we don’t want another cat and who-knows-what vet bills!

From experience, the stray is a lost cause. Once the kitten drops, find it and nurse it as a pet. The mother will NEVER domesticate.

It might have been one. Were they using a condom?

I nominate this for the new graphic on the Kitty Ping list.

Mrs. Tweezers and I had the good fortune that a pregnant stray (who was probably responsible for a large part of the feral cat population in our neighborhood) decided to adopt us. We found good homes for her babies and got her spayed and registered.
She has turned out to be a good kitty. And I don’t say that simply because she’s decided I’m “her” hoomin. :)

I beg to differ. I started putting out food and hanging out while they ate in the hopes of socializing a litter of kittens born in our back yard. Instead, we wound up socializing their mother.

If a 3rd cat was recording it on a (Obama) cell phone could we call it “Kitty Porn”?

Well, there was no report of a stained dress fur, so I'll guess yes! ;)

Thats nice, I'm glad to hear you found homes for the kittens and got her spayed. I'm not sure we can do that with the little one running around here, at least on our own. If we have to call Animal Control my wife is afraid they'll just put the poor thing down. We have one stray, a male we've had now for almost ten years. he's my boy, my pride and joy, Scooter. The little bugger has caught five mice over a period of years in the house. (we live kinda rural here in southern NJ,fairly big piece of property and lots of little critters about). Ten years with this cat, he's so beautifully colored. Black, beige, white with stripes and a strong, powerfully built cat too, kinda like a leopard, muscular chest, thick neck and powerful front legs. But every damn day with him is like fifty first dates "Hi, I'm your owner, this my house your living in and I'm the one who will be feeding you''. I love 'em though. I'll be heart broken when he goes.
