Mrs. Tweezers and I had the good fortune that a pregnant stray (who was probably responsible for a large part of the feral cat population in our neighborhood) decided to adopt us. We found good homes for her babies and got her spayed and registered.
She has turned out to be a good kitty. And I don’t say that simply because she’s decided I’m “her” hoomin. :)

Thats nice, I'm glad to hear you found homes for the kittens and got her spayed. I'm not sure we can do that with the little one running around here, at least on our own. If we have to call Animal Control my wife is afraid they'll just put the poor thing down. We have one stray, a male we've had now for almost ten years. he's my boy, my pride and joy, Scooter. The little bugger has caught five mice over a period of years in the house. (we live kinda rural here in southern NJ,fairly big piece of property and lots of little critters about). Ten years with this cat, he's so beautifully colored. Black, beige, white with stripes and a strong, powerfully built cat too, kinda like a leopard, muscular chest, thick neck and powerful front legs. But every damn day with him is like fifty first dates "Hi, I'm your owner, this my house your living in and I'm the one who will be feeding you''. I love 'em though. I'll be heart broken when he goes.
