The Republicans Are Officially DEAD To Me I Am Registering Independent Tomorrow
OV

Posted on 01/01/2013 10:01:47 PM PST by OneVike

Ever since the election I have been sitting back to watch what happens during the lame duck session of Congress. I have already accepted the sad fact that the Republicans where not going to do anything about all the illegal activity that took place on election day. I even begrudgingly accept the fact that they will never bring up charges of impeachment against Obama. However, for them to be so afraid of him as too give into this farce of a deal is too much for me to accept.

We all agree that America is no longer the country we grew up to love, fight for, and respect. Heck, every January 1st there are hundreds of thousands of new laws on the books that take a little more of our rights away. Sadly, while telling us to keep the faith because they will stand in the breach to keep us free, the Republican party continually does the opposite by making deals with the Democrats. The Republicans have their DNA all over the very laws they tell us they will stand against, and this fiscal cliff deal is just one more example of their many broken promises.

In my 15 years here, I have done my share of debating many fellow FReepers who thought we should abandon the Republican party. My argument has always been on the side that a third party vote, or even a non vote would only help the Democrats. Well this latest broken promise is the last straw for me. No more. From here on out I will argue for and support a third party.

It is time, hell it's way past time for a revolution that will lead to the replacement of the Republican party.

First thing tomorrow I will officially leave the Republican party.

Well lets’ not forget Ws’ contribution. W grew gov as fast as Obama and W also spent money like there was no tomorrow. So I’s say the Bush republicans are just as bad as the Obama democrats.

There’s something seriously wrong with your ability to ratiocinate.

First, I’m not from new York.

Second, YOU are the one giving cover to the GOP by blaming the dems for their vote. In case you haven’t noticed, the GOP run the House, yet it passed.

who created 99% of this government/tyranny : Democrat congresses did.

Yeah I’m mad for some in the GOP for falling for this “fiscal cliff” bs of the media but put the blame where it belongs on democrats.

the media controls all of you here too. you think it’s all Bush’s fault. ok you name here the % of the government we have now that Bush and the GOP congress created. it’s less than 1% . yes democrat congresses created social security, medicare, medicaid and the rest of at least 99% of the government tyranny we have now and it’s spending as most of is mandatory Bush had nothing to do with that but the media blamed Bush for spending and you all fell for it. how do those puppet strings feel

Almost all Republican Congressman here in Louisiana voted no. only 1 voted yes.

Democrats control the presidency, the media, the Senate, have a large number in the House and somehow you only blame Republicans. classic

When Bush took office the federal debt was 5.8 trillion when Bush left office the debt was 11 trillion. Bush was a big government, big spending republican. As a conservative I do not like big government, big spending political parties. Which is why I am not a democrat or a republican. Until the republicans repudiate Bush and his failed policies no one (with a brain) will ever trust the GOP again.

Well, blaming the dems would be pointless on FR, wouldn’t it? That would be like declaring that the sky is blue.

However, you are in serious denial if you continue to think that the Republicans are blameless.

1. name the government that Bush or the GOP congress created and what % of the spending that is.

2. I can gaurantee you that Democrats created 99% of the government , and its tyranny and spending associated with that government. for example democrat congresses created social , security and medicare and medicaid which alone account for over 132 $ trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities. bush nor the GOP created this. do you people understand mandatory spending? the only way to bush and GOP to stop this mandatory spending increases would have been Repeal of medicare etc. but then that would require at least 60% of the senate in Republican hands and a fair media . the media controls all of you with mind control and you have no understanding of mandatory spending etc. Bush and GOP didn't make budge by scrath, practially all gov spending was mandated by law already , automatically, for example Bush couldn't decree to stop printing social security checks which are trillions of $. NO congress would have to repeal the law to do that.
3. the media of course wanted to blame Bush for this mandatory spending that democrats created. And the media did blame him for that in order to affect YOUR mind to get it into your head that the GOP are big government types and so to make you stop supporting the GOP. hence we got Obamacare and soon the government will own everything and you have no rights but you get to bitch for a few times on an internet board about how bad the GOP is , when you lose all your individual rights and you will go on blaming the GOP and never knowing how the media conned you , got you to vote or not vote for your own rights.

“Explain how maintaining the status quo (sticking with the gop) will bring on a CWII? I bet you don’t see the contradiction of your statements, do you?”

Yes I do actually and it isn’t contradictory. Because if you whiners about how rotten Boehner is, and how lousy the Republican Party is, keep vocalizing about it day after day, then you may as well get right down to the nub of the matter, as the status quo isn’t going to go away anywhere in the near future, even if you go third party, which will actually prolong the downfall of the Dem regime.

So go straight for CWII and get it over with, find out who wins the war. Too many Freepers are constantly going after their own, or what used to be their own (the Pubs) and think they will find some Utopia in a third party effort. It will do nothing but ruin the Pub Party further, preventing them from getting into power in the future, while gaining nothing because a third party effort will fall flat in this country for years, as it has already since the Whigs (how long ago was that?).

The Sheeple will continue to hire Santa Claus (the Dem Party), and do so happily, just like in Hugo Chavez land, as long as the goodies keep coming. And the wealthy and middle class down there (what’s left of them) stew in their own juices. They haven’t quite worked themselves up into Civil War down there, and they too have the deck stacked against them. Because they are afraid they will lose. Then, when their country is broke, here comes CWII. It’s amazing when socialism gets a strong foothold, how long it takes to get rid of.

The minority sheeple have banded together now, and with the aid of certain disgruntled folks such as some on this very thread who won’t vote Pub, or want a third party, are guaranteeing further Dem wins. Plus there is the cult of Obama, just like the cult of Chavez down south. The minorities see Obama as one of them, and see him as cool and the giver of benefits. Conservatives will take away goodies as they see it.

If you don’t want to prolong your agony, go straight for the civil war and get it over with, or stop the constant spigot of whining, and get to work actually supporting the Republican Party instead of tearing it down. It’s the only hope we have. Work real hard toward winning in the midterm elections, so we don’t lose the House too. With so many Freepers threatening third party, all they are doing is guaranteeing that we lose the House. Stop slamming Boehner, he couldn’t have done any better with the hand he was dealt than he did. In fact, between himself and McConnell, they got a better deal than I thought they would, and they live to fight another battle in a couple of months over spending. Help the Pubs out rather than constantly sitting in your armchairs and tearing them down.

You want to know how Romney lost? Because of sourpuss whiteys and libertarian Ron Paul types who sat on their duffs and didn’t vote, three million people’s worth. Just like the large amount of people on the anti-Romney threads here who kept reiterating proudly how they weren’t going to vote for Mitt. Well, once again you see the results and now we are stuck once again with Obama. And the demographics will continue to change, with Obama legalizing illegal aliens, primarily Hispanics. Then they can vote too.

I’m po’d, so to the whiners, just go for a Civil War and get if over with, because your actions are going to lead to it anyway. Otherwise, actually support the one party that might be able to stop what is happening. Even that might not work next time. We need overwhelming Pub support. The Dems stick together, we don’t. A third party will just destroy the ability to win for years to come. By that time, the country will be ruined.

I use the go straight to Civil War as an example of what will happen, sooner than later, if we don’t try harder to get Pubs elected. If a third party was to get in, my gut feeling is that shortly thereafter you’d all be disgusted with them too, maybe more so, because if it wasn’t a perfectly pure partyo according to your liking you would want them out too. And a perfectly pure party isn’t going to win in this divided modern society anyway. Work within the Pub Party to help it, not destroy it with pipe dreams of instant perfection that is not attainable.

And constant sniping of good people like Boehner and McConnell that are doing the best they can with the stacked deck they have been handed doesn’t help. It is fundamentally unfair. If the deal wouldn’t have been made yesterday everyone would have gotten it in the jugular taxwise, and the Pubs would have been blamed in the mainstream media for it. And half of you guys would have been right in there pitching about how lousy the Pubs are, for different reasons, but just aiding the enemy in vocalizing about those rotten Pubs.

Then if the Pubs would have quashe the deal, the Dems would have presented bills in Congress to restore some of the Bush tax cuts and would have looked like saviors. Once again we would lose the PR war. Why can’t you just be realistic as to where we are. If we don’t stick together within the Pub Party, we are doomed for years to come. That or, back to the thrust of my argument, setting up an eventual Civil War. It may be too late for us already. By the way, go ahead and try it your way, as you will do it anyhow. Go third party, as you aren’t helping the Pubs any, and when that fails too, get your muskets out.

The goal would be to build a new conservative second party and let the republicans be a smaller minotiry third or fourth party.

How many times do we have to be beaten one the head before we will go elsewhere?

Actually, the Venezuelans have one big thing going for them. Hugo Chavez is about to be deader than a door nail. Imminently. Will be very interested to see if the folks down there will be able to gain their country back from the cult of Chavez when he is officially dead, or whether the pull of socialism is so great that more than half of the people will once again vote a socialist in. Then the people down there will just have to live with it, or revolt. Which way will they go?

“The goal would be to build a new conservative second party and let the republicans be a smaller minotiry third or fourth party.”

If you are indeed morphing libertarian, then you already have a party to go to, the Libertarian Party, if you are not already in it. You don’t need to build a new party.

Thanx, not only don’t you understand the concept that I am morphing away, but you have the arrogance to decide what party I should go to. Very helpful and wrong.

I don’t have the energy to campaign and knock on doors, but I will find a party and my checkbook will go with me. It will not be the republican party given that it is now the certified party of moderates.

You keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll keep getting what you got.

I have changed, but you’re still stuck. The republicans have been a disappointment for the last two decades, except possibly for the Clinton impeachment in the house and the contract with America, also in the house. Where is all that action now?

You have to stop judging by the fact that they talk better than the democrats.

When you realize that you will be ready to get serious to ensure your views are represented on the national level.

Happy new year and let us know when you’re ready.
