A guy was stomped to death by a moose in Anchorage several years back - it was hanging out by the front door of a building just like this one in Homer. They are not to be trifled with, but carve up into delicious portions when dead.

This is exactly the reason I told my Dad to join the Elks Lodge and give Moose a pass.

Cop thought it was the biggest pit bull he’d ever seen - so he had to shoot it. It’s the club’s rule.

Guy comes down to shoot a few hoops and then this. Couldn’t they have just kept his basketball overnight?

Well, coincidentally, my daughter hit a deer last night while driving home. A couple of hunters happened to drive by, and stopped to advise her. They called the Game Warden, who came and put the deer out of his misery. Then he said that my daughter could take it home for the freezer.
So my son drove over and helped cut it up and skin it—and got back home at 3:00 AM. It turned out to be a yearling buck, which you’re not allowed to shoot, but it should make some good eating.
So, no moose bit my sister (because I don’t have one), but a deer will go into my daughter’s freezer. She said she’d bring some over when she next visits us. We’re almost out of the wild boar that another of my sons shot around Christmas.

"Well, I can guess what the mystery meat will be tomorrow!"No mystery here. Alaskans eat moose with great enjoyment. It is a very tasty alternative to beef, without the artificial fattening of feedlot beef.
