Unless he was holding a machine gun, I don’t see how this can happen. Forensics would prove the angle of the entry wounds. If an ME ever came to me and said “He shot himself in the head four times”, my reply would be “Try again”.

The Beretta 93R is a slicked up version of the M92 that has a three shot burst setting. I could fathom three self inflicted rounds with one of those, but four?

first shot himself under the chin. That bullet exited his face and went into the ceiling. They say he did that twice more with the same result.

It just must not have been his time to die.

Then a fourth shot entered his neck, severed his spinal cord and killed him.

I once tended to a dog that had been run over and then shot twice in the head. First bullet went between the mandibular bones and exited the mouth, missing the tongue. The second bullet went through the lateral canthus of the eye and exited just above the ramus. The owners, knowing they had botched the euthanasia, then called me and asked me to save the dog. She did fine. There was a little ataxia (staggering) because of the concussion from the auto and both bullet wounds took about five sutures total.

IMO the odds of a person botching a suicide are pretty good.
