Netflix streaming works pretty well now, although there are some holes in the library.

Per one report, Netflix has drastically increased its 'purchasing' of streaming over last year.
The article below addresses some concerns about the postal rate increase:
US Postal Service Proposes 7% Rate Increase for DVD Mailers
Update: Netflix's Steve Swasey on the proposed rate increase: "Netflix believes a stronger, more viable Postal Service with predictable service and affordable rates is preferable to a weakened Postal Service. To that end, we believe the multiple proposals put forward by the Postal Service in its Action Plan for the Future will help secure its viability for many years to come and help assure that our nation continues to enjoy reliable, trusted and affordable mail service. Netflix believes the United States Postal Service should have the ability to adjust to changes in technology and consumer demand."

Many people don’t have high enough downloads speeds. Most rural areas don’t have high speed available. Mail is delivered to rural areas. Mail will still be cheep enough to make a profit.

Another issue facing Netflix and others’ downloads is the rumored attempts by large carriers to limit how much a consumer can download before higher charges for broadband kick in.
Have heard that limit could be as low as a movie or two a month. This has been posted on FR recently - a week or two ago. But I’m sure we can count on Congress to exempt home users from these new fees. /s
Sorry, maybe someone else can provide links for this issue.

Is Netflix taking this as a wake-up call to start hot footing their efforts to move more of their content onto their online 'Watch Instantly' libraries, and away from their DVD delivery service? The "watch instantly" method will never look (and sound) as good as a Blu-ray if you rent those (as I do). I don't think the lack of a Saturday would be a deal breaker for Netflix. I do stream some stuff from them-mainly old TV shows and film noir classics; and I'd like to see more of the library available for streaming. But streaming is not as good as Blu-ray.
I would still rent from Netflix even without Saturday delivery. I can have 3 movies out at any time, plus the streaming; so I don't think it would be crippling to lose Saturday. I will be more annoyed that some of my Amazon Prime orders would no longer come in 2 days of one of those days is a Saturday. I'm looking forward to the new Errol Flynn boxset I am supposed to be receiving from Amazon tomorrow.

I love watch instantly, but there is not enough selection. All the movies they offer should be available to watch instantly.

The CEO has talked about it a couple of times. He is largely unconcerned. They like the speed with which the the streaming market is growing, they don’t expect many if any cancellations because of the lack of saturday deliveries (if it ever happens). All the netflix news you could ever care about is here http://www.hackingnetflix.com/ (including the CEO talking about the saturday thing 6 months ago).

If they stop Saturday feliveries, then Netflix would profit because their customers would be able to watch fewer movies per month.

Is Netflix taking this as a wake-up call to start hot footing their efforts to move more of their content onto their online 'Watch Instantly' libraries, and away from their DVD delivery service? I hope so, because with out Sat deliveries, or if they cut back even more, I will have a gap in my weekends without any DVDs to watch!
Seriously, I hope they go to all instant play. I think though, that a lot of it has to do with copy rights and other legal BS.

I’m honestly not too worried about it. I use Netflix and have for about three years. They always seem to be ahead of the curve.

No closed captioning on the ‘watch instantly’ netflix, at least that is what I have found. Wish that was different.
