LOL!! How insensitive of me to forget that title that she worked SO hard for! It is my dream to wake up and find her booted out of the Senate. But the CA voters have disappointed me so many times, I am afraid to hope for this.

I wish I lived in Arizona. At least you have a governor that you can be proud of!

Thank you for the sweet tatty bear and daisy. I am going to answer a few more pings and then get busy with the difficult task of boxing up my MIL’s things. It has to be done, so better to do it now than later.

LOL! I'll bet when Boxer gets booted, the GENERAL will not even call her "Ma'm". He will get in her face, and say, "It's GENERAL to YOU, Ms. LOSER!" ROTF!!!

I love AZ - but it is becoming a threatening place to live, with the massive invasion from south of the border. I'm glad I'm set up with a security system! (But, a lot of good that will do, if we have to fire a majority of our police force, as did Oakland.) When FR went down today, all I could think of, was - it is just a matter of time before our "Freedom of Speech" is ripped away, by "O" and his "czars"!

I've got a scraped knee
and my ankle hurts bad,
but I guess that I’m happy
and I'm sure I’m not sad.

Bobby Joe pushed me
and called me some names,
then said I couldn't play
in all his fun games.

He told me I’m ugly
and he said girls are dumb
and he gunked up my hair
with his sticky old gum.

But I think he likes me
because his valentine
that he gave me in school
said, “Will you be mine?”.

Mom says boys are silly
when they are in love.
Because they can’t tell us,
they just give us a shove.

My ankle is sore
and my knee, it is hurting,
but my friend Bobby Joe?
That's just his way of flirting …

When I posted this morning that I might not get all of my pings answered, I did not realize that I was jinxing FR. :)

I made a post to the Mayor and everything froze.

When I returned from errands, it was waiting for me to try again.

Hope everyone is staying cool on this hot miserable Monday. I’m looking forward to cooler weather later in the week. I’m really looking forward to a vacation to try to get away from this weather for awhile.

Hope you’ll pardon my late night comment to your early morning post.

Been getting back into my old routines. Recuperation is a long slow process. Been having good days and not so good days. The good days require zero meds but the not so good days are something else.

I’m once again providing care for our grandson. Had to take a two month break following surgery, but we’re back together again. He told me last Thursday, “Poppy, I’m really glad to be with you again. I’ve missed you so much.”

I’ve got/had the best job in the world - providing daycare for our grandsons. I used to make pretty good wages as a plumber/pipefitter, but being a part of their lives all these years (14) can’t be measured in dollars and cents.

Well, I’ve rambled on long enough. I’m not posting comments like I used to, but I enjoy the fellowship at Amy’s Place.

Special Occasions







Sometimes when I'm Outdoors and the Sun just feels too hot
I indulge in an extremely pleasant, though random strain of thought
Should a shiny, damp patch of downy soft grass suddenly cross my sight
That requires only a stretched out slow and luscious tumble to create delight

As the damp, cool grass and leaves deliciously cool my fur from nose to tail
It's a delightful sensation that has never been known to fail
Whether on a flat piece of grass or especially on a low down slope

Where Gravity can add a bit of speed, though enough that I can cope
As the World outside my wide blue eyes becomes a wondrous Kaleidoscope
That comes to rest when the Law of Physics decides that I've had enough
Even though I have never been one to believe or follow rules or other unseen stuff!
