In a shocking letter to his disgruntled fans, KSFO (560-AM) radio host Lee Rodgers told them he was fired from the station but probably would have quit anyway, because Citadel, owned by Farid Suleman, had pushed him toward making positive statements about Muslims.

“I WILL tell you, in all candor, that thanks to Mr. Suleiman’s Citadel management, I could no longer proudly say that the company had never told me what to say or what not to say. There was an obvious cave-in to some ultra-left and pro-Muslim groups, making it unlikely that I would have ever renewed my contract with the company, anyway.”

Too bad! I woke up to him and officer Vic and Melanie for many years. I wish him luck and I hope he resurfaces at some other radio station soon.

Suleman is a Palestinian name. The Octomom Nadya Suleman is of Palestinian Arab origin as is an a MP of Hamas who shares the same name.

Not listening again either. I wonder how many sponsors they will lose.

No mention if Brian Sussman in the letter. I would have at least thought a gook luck reference but as the fill in I’m aware they didn’t work together.

Sure: I'm positively appalled at the behavior of some self-describe Muslims!

770 WABC in New York is also owned by Farid Suleman, As most of you, that's the flagship facility for Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin. Citadel Media syndicates Mark Levin whereas Clear Channel's Premiere Radio Network syndicates Rush Limbaugh (but WABC is the affiliate in the nations top market).

You're right. There are a lot of good and decent people who just happen to have been born Muslim. They're not all fanatical nut cases, although the religion itself is pretty radical and hate-filled.

I have listened my last to KSFO.

KFBK- Haven’t listened since they fired Mark Williams
KSFO -Done with them now.
That leaves KFIV Modesto as the last station I’ll be able to get Rush on. (not a Citadel station).

This is sad.

And a stark contradiction to the conspiracy theory that conservative parent companies are the power behind conservative talk radio.

Seems its part of the war between the ideas that win in an open marketplace, and the ideas that must be advanced by other means.

I’d pay a decent chunk of money to hear someone say that to Mark Levin, as long as I got to hear Levin’s response as part of the deal.

:)

Yup. That's what disgusts me about this. Lee's show got good ratings and surely pulled in good ad revenue. However, he did not fit the political/cultural agenda of the corporate media elite.

I don't think Lee is anti-Muslim. He is, however, anti-Jihadist.

I'll give Lee a pass on that. It's tough to give best wishes to your replacement when you've been fired. Different than a voluntary retirement.
