Did JESUS Turn Water into Wine? The obvious answer to the question, "Did Jesus turn water into wine?" is yes. At the marriage feast in Cana of Galilee recorded in John 2:1-11, Jesus turned water into wine. However, this question does not usually ask what is meant by it. What is usually meant is "Did Jesus make intoxicating wine?" And the answer is no. Rather than justifying the use of beverage alcohol, let us stand diametrically opposed to it for "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."

American institutions rest solely on good citizenship. They were created by people who had a background of self-government. New arrivals should be limited to our capacity to absorb them into the ranks of good citizenship. America must be kept American. For this, it is necessary to continue a policy of restricted immigration. It would be well to make such immigration of a selective nature with some inspection at the source, and based either on a prior census or upon the record of naturalization. Either method would insure the admission of those with the largest capacity and best intention of becoming citizens. I am convinced that our present economic and social conditions warrant a limitation of those to be admitted. We should find additional safety in a law requiring the immediate registration of all aliens. Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America.

In the wake of the Muslim attack on America, a friend at my Conservative Christian church first made me aware of Free Republic on Sunday, September 16, 2001. He told me that FR was the place for breaking news and informed opinion for not just 9/11 but for virtually everything. In spite of my relatively recent sign up date, I've been reading regularly since that mid-September day in 2001. Yes, it took a long while for me to sign up since my dear wife, now in Heaven, needed my care and that took a lot of time. And, frankly, I wasn't sure I had the gravitas to match wits with the smartest people on the planet, the members of Free Republic. So I lurked, read and learned before I felt qualified to jump into the discussions. The brilliance, creativity and good humor of FReepers is unchallenged anywhere else, new media or otherwise. Jim Robinson, who served the Republic with distinction in the US Navy, is a true Patriot by providing this peerless forum for Conservative activism.
