If you read the posts again you will see that some freepers here are striving to keep their sons from enlisting, so catch up and don’t mislead people that haven’t read the entire thread.

I'm not misleading anyone. You accused people here of wanting to kick recruiters off of campuses. I said that was hyperbole. Advising sons not to enlist during an anti-American's term in office is a different thing.

I don’t really put much stock into who the commander in chief is when you serve,,,,

I beg to differ

Beck is an idiot. I guess he wants to leave the impression that people who don’t get out of the military must be Obama supporters. As if they don’t serve because they might love their country or want to fight the war on terror.

I hope he’s drinking again—I’d hate to think he’s this loopy SOBER.

One can only imagine what these patriots think of Sarah Palin’s son Track, just back from serving in Iraq, 9 of those months under President Obama.

I agree... My one son served in Desert Storm, (High security clearance) Airforce. Currently National Guard. My other son served in the Marines, civilian now. Asked if I would support them now as I did then..must admit I hesitated for a moment. Until remembering my son said, “It’s important people remember we serve to protect the American people, soldiers know this. The Gov. sends and equips us.”

Right, do they really want to play this silly game of “Well, I happened to fall into the age group where I enlisted and served under President Reagan - therefore, my service can beat up your service!”

I don’t want to play.

Did you forget that it was the so called [my term]American peioke that got them in this mess? and I would bet dollars to donuts that come November 2012 they will vote to give obama four more years. They were stupid enough to be fooled one time, so when the time comes, they are stupid enough to be fooled again.

The new right wing, anti military where it counts, getting their sons to serve.”

Oh lay off the melodramatic crap. And stop parroting Daily Kos talking points that have no basis in fact.

No wonder we have so few veterans among conservative leaders,”

Now why don't you show me any believable figures from any reputable polling organization to support that ridiculous claim?
There are by far more conservatives amongst the military than liberals. Every single election cycle produces more votes for Republicans from the military than for Democrats. Conservatives serve their country more than liberals ever will. Algore epent half his time trying to NOT get the military votes counted in Florida because he was losing amongst the military.

an awful lot of conservatives are just what the left says they are, they want to pass the buck from themselves and their own sons to anyone else, including the women that are already required to make up the shortfall of males.”

Total Bullsh**.
You better get off whatever you been smoking dude.

I don’t give a hangnail what happened in WWII. We were a different nation then and had more patriots, especially in hollywood.

Without the whole government and USA might behind them, it’s a loser.

Pussy footing along will get you killed. 58,000 will prove it for ya.

My soon to be 18 year old nephew has wanted to be a Marine for so long now. He told my sister he won’t enlist because of barry.

I felt a little sad because he would make such a great Marine. He said he would wait until barry’s out of office. He now wants to be a police officer.

Makes me hate barry even more, for taking away a young boy’s dream. What a POS he is.

"Obama and his peeps (think Ayers, Dohrn, etc.) would love nothing more than if the members of our fantastic military got out"

Perhaps there is another way of thinking on this issue.

If they're out, they won't have to take illegal orders from POTUS. We will have them on the American people's side.

Something terrible is coming down the pike. I don't think they'll all leave. But those who do will have contacts "within".

My heart breaks a little more with every one of barry's steps. Especially his dithering on Afghanistan.

Actually it’s the Congress that declares the wars and appropriates the defense budget. You extend this logic to them too? The congress has changed hands several times. You really advise a kid to get in, get out, get in, get out, get in?

We have needed a larger force since 9/11,,, Troops have been in the field waaay too long without a proper rotation,,,

I agree, it doesn't get discussed much but I really worry about the 'bench depth' of our military.

LOL, you must be stoned to have made that silly post, you did not refute anything, you just made up up some answers, for instance pretending that “ few veterans among conservative leaders,” meant the political persuasion of the serving military instead of civilian “conservative leadership” from politics to talk radio and TV.

Wrong, I did not accuse people of that, I said that they need to join the left in blocking recruiters, if they don't want their own sons serving now because of the political climate, then they should also strive to discourage other sons from serving.

Don't be hypocritical, join the part of the left that discourages military service if you are a "conservative" that agrees with that.

Hey Hey Ho Ho we won't send our sons to your democrat war.

Yes, Track Palin serves under a democrat president, does any one know why Glen Beck didn't serve under Ronald Reagan?
