Bring on the war of words. In a frank conversation with MSN writer Lawrence Ulrich, Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen has said that the Chevy Volt will fail and that anybody who buys the car is an idiot. Not only that, de Nysschen has lumped proponents of any type of electric car into a category of intellectual elite who want to show what enlightened souls they are.
I think I like this guy!
Chevy Volt - feel the surge (in your power bill)
Electric cars need to have infrastructure built and completely upgraded large amounts of electricity already come from renewable sources. (Nick Chambers, Editor)
There is only one and possibly two renewable sources, the first is Hydroelectric, second being Nuclear; neither of these are being considered by the pinheads and masters of smart. For this would cut them out of the revenue stream. I have proposed multi-tiered Hydroelectric systems for California, and at every turn the Neo-Marists, Eco-freaks and Friends of Government, find and use each opportunity to prevent progress. Where do these squealing like little bit*hes and girly men think they are going to get all this energy from Windmills; ok what happens when the hot air runs out in D.C.? Who ya gunna call, Windbusters?
A fetish car at that.
I agree with Ulrich
Got to get rid of those lefties on GMs BOD.
Probably not getting a lot of coverage in the MSM because he’s too damn honest and really politically incorrect (as opposed to the phony Bill Maher).
For some reason this poster is reminded of the joke, why don’t sharks eat lawyers?
(professional courtesy)
This whiner sounds jealous. And like he’s aware the Americans have caught him flat-foot.
This American, even though it’s Government Motors and the car costs (way) more than where I’ll buy one - would be first in line and in-Europe’s-face proud to drive one if it cost 20K.
AMERICA FIRST.
Also, the electric cars will compete with the windmills for rare earths and copper. Lithium-ion batteries use copper, carbon, and lithium. Do the Eco weenies think that those elements pop out of thin air? There is no free lunch.
No matter, After 0 destroys half the grid you wont be able to find a live recepticle. I say an old Baker electric the other day, still running after almost a century. Range about 12 miles, the sign said. Cool machine, I want one.
barbra ann
It’s pretty....Pretty useless.
After cap and tax, $4.00/gal will look cheap compared to what electricity will cost.
So, in other words, he's saying it's a marketing home run?
It’s anything but useless.
It’s brilliant, if expensive. Drive it around like a regular car, but if say - Israel bombs Iran’s nukes, and suddenly gas cannot be had for anything less than $50 a gallon (or even not at all for a couple weeks). Which would really be a drag on your job situation.
Got a Volt? No problem:
Just plug your car in, in your very own garage. You drive it every day, and pay coal-power rates while your co-workers either quit or live on mac and cheese after paying $500, for one tank of gas.
Seriously it’s a great idea. Just for the other option should it be necessary. Nothing wrong with options!!
I’d even be on board with getting a Prius, if it were a Ford rather than a Japanese import. Why is it liberals must always be so darn anti-America in everything they climb on board to?
Buy American!!
Chevy Volt DOA
What’s the good in having an electric car, the powers that be will make sure it costs you just as much to have it as what you’re driving now.
All depends on the price of petrol. If gas is 4 bucks or more, the average 15k mile per year cost savings will be $2000 per year. At a 100k lifecycle for the car fuel savings will be $14000. 150k will bring a 20k savings. Plus add in the $7500 gift from Dear Leader and you have a car that makes economic sense.
Chevy Volt, a very expensive small car that runs on coal.
