In a quest that is seen as wacky, way out there and as bitter partisan politics by some, the issue of Obama not showing his birth certificate to prove he is a naturalized American citizen continues. Is this really just some conspiracy theory along the lines of 9/11 truthers and alien cover ups? At first glance it seems like it. But surprisingly many Americans seem to actually believe there is some possibility of truth in this claim that Obama is not a citizen. WND continues to run stories on it but most recently a congressmans town hall meeting became overwhelmed with the issue.
Many people will immediately jump up and say Obama produced a birth certificate, what more do you want? Apparently Obama provided a certificate of live birth (COLB) which is not the same as a long form birth certificate. The long form birth certificate should provide evidence that can be corroborated. The COLB provided on factcheck.org does not show a hospital, doctors name or anything else that can be checked, just a time and city. This COLB can also be obtained by non citizens.
Obama could easily release his long form birth certificate but hasnt. Just to stop people from talking about it and to show that he has the most transparent administration, you think he would.
Many liberals, moderates and even some conservatives will probably read this and just say get over it already. There is a time to let things go and personally I already have. Not because I dont think its important but because I think Obama will never release this information and even if it is true that he is not a natural citizen, that nothing will change. But should people just get over this? If it is true, it is the biggest scam in history. People never got over Bushs decision to go to war with Iraq, should everyone just forget about this issue?
The argument could easily be made that if Obama does not qualify to be president than all of the bills he signed and executive orders he issued would have to be undone. This is very important but would cause huge upheaval. I dont know if the American people would be able to handle this kind of event and the ramifications of the loss in trust of the government. It doesnt mean the truth shouldnt be fully investigated though but I sincerely doubt it ever will be
I knew you would bring up the last question. How many times do you need to be slapped by the answer before you stop bringing it up?
God no. Though I have many friends who are.
Did you have to list all your former names, if you had any, on your application to the State Bar?
Not applicable.
No, she was making a point that she was present in that village while her Obama Jr. was born in Hawaii.
It's prefectly clear on the tape, unless you want to assert that her translator was lying. In that case, I suggest you get someone who speaks Luou, or whatever language she's speaking on the tape, to back up your assertion.
Oh, and FYI. She's not actually Obama Jr.'s grandmother, but rather one of his grandfather's other wives.
A Democrat stands for nothing!
You're 0 for 2 on that reply.
Yeah thanks Rats live by lies and fraud, they wouldn’t know the truth if it wacked them in the head. Liberalism is a mental Disorder.
Obama’s grandmother states that she was present when Obama was born in Kenya.
Why is Obama spending so much in legal fees to keep his birth certificate hidden? Takes him out of the ball game right there.
I don't know. Try answering it and we'll find out.
Then you are saying his right to keep it hidden, if there is a BC, supersedes the U. S. Constitution.
And Obama was a presidential candidate and he presented his COLB. So they're even. And I'll point out that a considerable number of your birther buddies don't think McCain is a natural-born citizen since he was actually born in Panama.
Aye, I hear what you’re saying. There’s another thread going entitled ‘Get Out of War Free Card’.

It’s another WND article pursuing this issue. But it concerns the military angle. If a few more officers publically refuse his orders because of the birth certificate it will become an issue he won’t be able to ignore.
You mentioned earlier that you prefer to think long-range and strategically. Ok. So, let’s say in the next couple of weeks/months this scenario plays out, we have officers refusing to deploy, Rush Limbaugh has everyone stirred up, there are billboards everywhere about the birth certificate. Obama finally relents and produces his birth certificate and it is legitimate.
What then for the political Right? I’m just curious how you see this playing out for us. I see Obama as a one-term president but something like this could maybe change public perception of him. If he is perceived to be unduly persecuted by the Right it might get him enough sympathy in the long run to get him elected again. That’s a scary thought to me. I’d like to see him out of office now before it’s too late but if it can’t be now then at least in 2012. I wouldn’t want to see him re-elected. That would be catastrophic. At the moment he is sinking his own ship. I wouldn’t to do anything to help him out.
But I would like this thing with the birth certificate answered.
However....
As I understand it, a lot of these cases are now being defended by US Attorneys. So what money is being spent is public money.
So...
How is tilting at this particular windmill all that higher of a moral plane than the whack-job filing nuisance lawsuits against Sarah Palin and costing Alaska millions in legal fees?
Palin is being pursued for emotional reasons.
This birth certificate flap has no basis and is also being pursued for emotional reasons.
At what point will the BC crowd stop pissing away public funds over this?
Especially when there are much more productive battles to fight.
Just asking....
He made no such claims to the bar. He merely claimed he never practiced law under any other name, which by all accounts is true.

Why thank you. But this is not my corner. It is everyone’s. We need to fight this SOB with everything we have tooth and nail Rules for Radicals style.
You are mistaken:

All right, fine. Please humor me and direct me to a primary source that proves this.
Everything I have found in my own searching slaps it down.
Lots of people claim that it is so, but the primary source says otherwise.
I have answered this question from you a dozen times on other threads. I have not seen you post it recently. Perhaps you could remember any of the times the answer was explained to you. I’ll give you a little time to think and perhaps search.........................

“Can you cite a single instance in his entire adult life where he’s gone by Soetero?”
At common law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country, of parents who were its citizens, became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives or natural-born citizens (that is one or the other, for those in Rio Linda), as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further, and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction, without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case, it is not necessary to solve these doubts. It is sufficient, for everything we have now to consider, that all children, born of citizen parents within the jurisdiction, are themselves citizens. Minor v. Happersett (1874) 21 Wall. 162, 166-168.
Perkins v. Elg's importance is that it gives examples of what a Citizen of the U.S. is; what a native born American Citizen is; and what a natural born citizen of the U.S. is. A natural born citizen is a person who is born of two U.S. citizen parents AND born in the mainland of U.S.
The issue is divided loaylties and how to avoid them for the highest office. We realize you want anchor babies to eligible, and if your obamessiah gets away with this usurpation that may happen. But ...
Rep. John Bingham of Ohio, considered the father of the Fourteenth Amendment, confirms the understanding and construction the framers used in regards to birthright and jurisdiction while speaking on civil rights of citizens in the House on March 9, 1866:
... I find no fault with the introductory clause [S 61 Bill], which is simply declaratory of what is written in the Constitution, that every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents [plural, meaning two] not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen...
Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama, aka Barry Obama, admits on his own website that he held British citizenship at birth due to his Father being a British subject who was in no way an American. Thus Barry is precisely whom Bingham was implying is not a 'natural born citizen' regardless of where he was born, for purposes of Constitutional eligibility.
