Now, he could clear that up in an instant by producing a genuine birth certificate. And yet he refuses to do it. He says he has one but he won’t do it. What is behind that? Hubris or what?

WOLFFE: Yes you can. That’s what I do. That’s what everyone does. The certificate of live birth is exactly what you get a passport with.
LIDDY: No, it’s a birth certificate.
WOLFFE: That’s — the copy of the birth certificate, everyone has copies of birth certificates. They use them all the time. Nobody hands out the one original document.
LIDDY: No, I wouldn’t expect them to.
WOLFFE: When you go to the DMV you take a copy with you. You don’t take the real… and it’s an official copy, it has to be embossed and stamped, it’s not just like a xerox. But that’s what it is, and it’s widely accepted.

No, in the world of legal distinctions created by legislatures and bureaucracies. This isn’t even a question it is a simple matter of fact.

A certificate (noun) is a certification, or a group of certifications of conjoined relevance, placed on a document.
OK. Whatever.
You were arguing terminology.
Obviously what they call a Certificate of Live Birth in Hawaii differs from every other state. No other state produces what Hawaii does; in all others, the hospital data sheet is reproduced in the document that they issue.
So, in short, what I was saying is fact (and Hawaii is dreamland for scoff-laws).
And they use different terminology to distinguish between those different types of documents. So, I was right. I have no idea what point you were trying to make.
Mostly, my point is that saying that you can’t get a passport with a certificate of live birth will cause most people to disregard the factual points that you make, since that is exactly the document that most people present to get their passport.
Well, you have a strange way of agreeing with me. lol
The issue is not going away until it is resolved.
