A Dowling High School teacher has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with one of her students. Twenty-seven-year-old Erin Marie Rohwer has been charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee.
The student she's accused of have a relationship with, is an 18-year-old male. Rohwer was arrested at her home Monday night. She was taken to the West Des Moines police station, where she posted a $5,000 bond and was released.
What? See an ophthalmologist. She’s guilty unless she’s really, really good at what she did.
Looks like she might be not guilty. Must have more pics.
Is that the Trunchbull?
Jury finds her guilty but commutes sentence due to age of “victim”
Who squealed on her?
guilty with a small ‘g’ with the option of upgrading to a large G pending further deliberation.
Does that carry over into criminalizing relationships between college professors and students? If not, why not? What is the difference between an 18 yo high school senior and an 18 yo college freshman?
Even though I'm a father with daughters, my attitude is that there needs to be an age where you consider a young person to be a complete, self-responsible adult, and 18 sounds like a good age.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GUILTY...KEY...THROW
She gets a count of “guilty” for every chin she has.
I don’t know if colleges have a policy regarding relationships between students and their professors. Some states do regarding high schools. The onus is on the people in authority — teachers, administrators, not the 18-year-old student.
Nah, she's Guilty. And she looks like Miss Beulah Ballbreaker.
If 18 is the legal age of consent, I don’t see a problem. Only if it started before the age of consent.
And it’s irrelevant if you think the age of consent should be higher.
Most companies I’m involved with just order the separation of the two to prevent supervisor-employee conflict. Firings don’t occur even in reality.
I don’t see any merit of illegality based on age difference. Again, the guy is ‘legal’ because he’s 18 = at or above the age of consent.
I think 18 is pretty much the standard. I’m agreeing with you. I don’t see illegality here. It’s maybe ‘against policy’, but not illegal.
If “teachers” wish to be thought of as “professionals”, they first need to behave as professionals.....and keep their peckers in their pants around their students.
The fact you didn't pick up on that - makes your comment and opinion “irrelevant”..... Right?
You must work in a low class parallel universe..
I've personally fired adult managers, having affairs with adult employees who reported directly to them.... It had nothing to do with age or marital status - it had everything to do with maintaining the integrity of the Manager/Employee relationship.
This occurs frequently in businesses that take Management and Personnel responsibilities seriously.....
