Good news and bad news for Expelled
National Center for Science Education ^ | January 1st, 2009

As 2008 drew to a close, the good news for the producers of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed was that their creationist propaganda movie was getting a bit of press again. The bad news is that it was in the lists of the worst movies of 2008. The Onion's A.V. Club (December 16, 2008), was quickest out of the gate, commenting, "There are terrible movies, and then there are terrible movies that cause harm to society by feeding into its ignorance. Nathan Frankowski's odious anti-evolution documentary belongs in the latter category. ... Few moments in cinema in 2008 were as shameless and disgusting as the Expelled sequence where Stein solemnly visits a Nazi death camp and unsubtly links 'survival of the fittest' theory to the Holocaust."

Of course, Nazi death camps and the theory of evolution are intimately linked. Evolution broke the Christian moral foundation for society. Nietzsche even predicted it in advance.

It is a good movie. It clearly shows the incredible BIAS and HATRED towards anyone who believes in God and gives God the credit for what He created.

Not too surprising, but some people lack the ability to judge a movie on its merits. Instead, they declare something one of the "worst movies" when what they really mean is "I wish the moviemaker wouldn't say such things".

I thought it was a fine film.

Yes, the LINK is CLEAR for those that wish to see it.
Abortion does the same. It eliminates what liberals see as undesirable born to impoverished families - that is what this was originally aimed at. Now we have a President elect who sees it like this:

A smug, godless, narcissistic person will now run the country. The worst part of it is that most aborted babies are BLACK. What a tragedy. Obama makes me ill.

“....there are terrible movies that cause harm to society by feeding into its ignorance...”

Well, that’s a pretty good description of everything that comes out of Hollywood...........

A difficult film...but a good one. One that needed to be made.

Seeing Stein walk through the death camp was heartwrenching.

I know a great many scientists who are believers and who work in fields related to evolution who have no problems giving God credit for Creation.

Clearly as shown by its own website the NCSE is heavily promoted by creepy orgs such as these:

American Civil Liberties Union

Americans United for Separaton of Church and State

People for the American Way

The Interfaith Alliance Coalition of religious organizations supporting church and state separation.

How would a deflector beanie help when there are no conspiratorial mind-rays to deflect? :/

So if we ignore the things the moviemaker is saying, by what merits was it a fine film? Acting? Cinematography? Editing? Set design? Soundtrack? Marketing?

“Of course, Nazi death camps and the theory of evolution are intimately linked.”

For the sake of argument, let’s say you’re right (not that I believe it to be the case). So what? A nutcase like Hitler didn’t need the theory of evolution do do what he did. He would have done it even if the theory had never been articulated.

I thought it was pretty good. Excellent, IMO. It wasn't about ID as much as it was about politics and guilt by association against ID’ers not towing the party line.

For anyone looking for truth, an excellent scientifically sound book is “The Case For A Creator” by Lee Strobel. This is a great place to start researching how science is now disproving the naturalist propaganda that has infiltrated our education system. Pseudo-scientist have fed us their religion for the last 50 years. Their idea of evidence is believing their claimed intellect and circular reasoning. Now, let the real observable scientific data speak to the truth of intelligent design. I’d like to thank the clueless author of the original posted article for bringing this discussion to light. We need to talk about it. I just have one question: How does genetic information come into being? The naturalist have to claim billions of years because they know that they don’t have an answer to the question. Here’s a clue: mutations result in a loss of information and there is not one single observation where a mutation resulted in a gain of information. Just on this premise alone, macro-evolution is scientifically DEAD.

I'm familiar with Lee Strobel and others.

Evolution is a theory anyone with half a brain should be embarrassed to be familiar with.

Sorry to have to break this to you, but the theory of evolution is supported by mountains of evidence. It is not contradicted by any credible scientific evidence.

You oppose it because it doesn't support your particular religious belief.

At least be honest in your objections and don't pretend you have any real interest in science.
