'Greed' is a four letter word, too. Can you say 'unbridled greed'? We are all guilty of it. Speak for yourself.
Do you like cats?

The non-union car companies down south are doing just fine. You chose to unionize. Bail yourself out.
I've never taken one red penny of yours for any reason, so don't take mine.

'Greed' is a four letter word, too. Sort of like 'jobs' is a three-letter word?

Not that I’m blaming you, you understand, but the quality of zots seems to have declined since last Tuesday - perhaps when they sober up or run out of dope it will get better.

700,000,000,000.00/300,000,000.00=2333.33...
Seven Hundred Billion Divided By Three Hundred Million Equals Two Thousand Three Hundred Thirty Three Point Three Three.
We would not get a million bucks each.
The bailout was a political stunt by the democrats to pretend to fix a problem they created so it wouldn’t hurt their election plans. I opposed it. Most people opposed it. It shouldn’t have happened.
That being said, if they wanted to fix the problem and use 700 billion doing it they should have simply paid down every residential mortgage in the US with a couple of conditions: 1) All those mortgages would be automatically converted to fixed rate mortgages if they weren’t already, and 2) the interest rate would be set at 2% or so above the prime rate unless it was already better, and 3) what ever bailout payment was made on any such mortgage would be applied directly to the principle after the mortgage was brought current so as to reduce the debt on the property.
All the people that were behind would get caught up and all the people that weren’t behind would get a big chunk of principle knocked off their debt. The crisis was allegedly brought on by people being unable to pay their mortgages. This would have directly addressed that, immediately returning the mortgage companies to solvency. If they could no longer sustain lending to those people on those new terms then they would have plenty of opportunity to mitigate their situations. Instead, everybody gets screwed except the mortgage pirates who get a big bonus for further undermining personal property rights.
