UFOs over New York (vanity)

Ok, a vanity about UFOs no less but....I'll lay it out as I saw it....
On Wednesday 10/15/08 at @ 17:35 I was on the SW corner of Northern Blvd. and 254 Street in Little Neck, Queens, NYC. Conditions were CAVU. My grandson, a friend (40s) and I watched two very small white objects remain motionless at avery high altitude. They were high enough for a commercial jet to pass well below them. At @ 17:52 they disappeared. They did not transit the sky, they just disappeared.

Balloons? Balloons are designed to flow with upper level streams. These were motionless for at least six minutes. I don’t know how long they were there before we spotted them.

This is such an unlikely location for a UFO- right in the middle of LaGuardia and JFK Airports, and almost directly over a military base in Bayside (Fort something, the name eludes me right now.)

Satellites. From your vantige point they appeared to be stationary. They were reflecting sunlight until their position changed. Pretty common.
