Obama claims to have more experience than Palin

(CNN) — Barack Obama defended his experience in dealing with natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina, and took a swipe at newly minted GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

In an interview on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 Monday night, Obama was asked about whether his experience in the U.S. Senate dealing with weather-related situations compares to Palin’s executive experience running the state of Alaska and as the small town mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.

“My understanding is that Gov. Palin’s town, Wassilla, has I think 50 employees. We've got 2500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year – we have a budget of about three times that just for the month,” Obama responded.

Our ability to manage large systems and to execute I think has been made clear over the past couple of years and certainly in terms of the legislation I’ve passed in the past couple of years, post-Katrina.”

“Obama claims to have more experience than Palin”

Anyone can CLAIM anything. He compares himself to Palin rather than McCain, because she has less experience than McCain. His foolish mistake is that she has more experience than Obama.

Perhaps he should compare his experience to her running a state of 670K people , 572K square miles, 24,500 state employees , and an operational budget of 11.61 million/day or 4.239 Billion a year (spending). Did I mention her 80% approval rating ??

She runs the entire state of Alaska on less than what the DNC is spending on the election.

More experience and less frivolous with spending.

Why is Obama comparing himself, a presidential candidate to the vice-presidential candidate?

Because he got his butt kicked when he tried to take on the 17YO pregnant girl?

Governor Palin is "Alaka Tough"...Obama's in over his head and he's knows it.

Meanwhile, Governor Palin is preparing for the first debate...

I watched Anderson Cooper last night with the Messiah and was literally yelling at the TV. Any cub reporter from a local small town newspaper would know enough to call Obama on his constant references to her being Mayor of Wasilla, one of those small towns where bitter people cling to the religion and guns. Instead of calling Obama on this obvious distortion, Cooper appeared to be under Obama’s spell, and just thanked him profusely for his time.

Before Cooper, Wolf Blitzer was going on and on about Palin’s daughter and Troopergate. The moron went through Troopergate and tried to make Palin look bad, but when it came to talking about the root of the matter (Trooper Wooten, the step son tasering, drinking on the job, threatening the Gov’s father’s life, poaching moose illegally good for nothing cop) Wolf said he wouldn’t talk about specifics about him, to protect him. It was a disgusting show of media bias, as Trooper Wooten has already been SUSPENDED for NINE DAYS as a result of some of his actions, and the rest are a matter of record.

Every time Obama attacks Palin for being the Governor of a state with few people, he should be required by a Fairness Doctrine to post a link to an Alaska State Government Webpage.

I especially liked this one
http://state.ak.us/local/webmart.shtml

But Obama could start with this one
http://state.ak.us

Palin should challenge Obama to debate on National TV.

Palin should challenge Barack to a friendly match of one-on-one at the Wasilla High basketball courts.

What did Obama do during the Katrina disaster & recovery effort??

He got to hold the remote control while watching the coverage on TV.

Um, Barry? Really not a good line of attack. Sarah Palin's been governor of Alaska for longer than you've been running for president (she took office December '06, you formed your exploratory committee February '07). The Alaska state budget is $241 million a month, which is a lot more than $40 million a month.

But hey, you just keep doin' your thing, dawg.

Good point.

And comparing his campaign with running a state? What an idiot.

My Mom always told me if you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.

Sorry Mom

I want to look Obama straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, ####less, hopeless, heartless, fat-###, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey $$$$ he is. Hallelujah. Holy $$$$.

He wishes he was NOT running against McCain. That’s what this is saying. There’s got to be some sort of psychological term for what he’s doing, but I’m not sure what it is.

Palin could beat Obama.

She definitely would make a better president NOW than Obama ever would, even disregarding my ideological bias.

I'm thinking it's Denial. "My opponent is not a war hero. My opponent is not a 36-year veteran in the senate. My opponent does not have a track record of reaching across the aisle and gettign things done. No. My opponent is a girl from Alaska that I've never heard of. And she's not more experienced than I am. She's not! She's not! She's not!"

Why is Obama comparing himself, a presidential candidate to the vice-presidential candidate? Shouldn't he be comparing himself to McCain?

LOL! That was my first thought. My second thought/image was:

(obaby stomping hims iddy bitty feets) "I do too have more experience...I do, I do, I do. Waaaaahh!"

Not only is he comparing his (lack of) experience to the VP pick but he has to ignore her current experience to make his seem impressive. Then he ignores the job he was voted into, which he has neglected since he started running for President, and touts his experience building a bloated campaign staff that despite the fawning media coverage is tied with McCain/Palin who he claims is so inexperienced. That’s impressive? LOL!!!

Really Senator? And what is the budget for the State of Alaska? How many employees does it have? How can you take your current experience, ignore her current experience, and aim for her job almost a decade ago?

Does any reporter ever ask a SINGLE TOUGH QUESTION?

It was a disgusting show of media bias

Yesterday, when the convention showed the videotaped statements by each of the Republican Gulf of Mexico governors, CNN stayed with their very repetitive Gustav coverage. I was astonished that they just skipped these very timely presentations during the few minutes that the convention was convened for the first day.

CNN has two channels and probably hundreds of employees covering the convention. The DBM's ability to decide what is or is not a story, and what to show or ignore, is extremely powerful.
