(CNN) Barack Obama defended his experience in dealing with natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina, and took a swipe at newly minted GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
In an interview on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 Monday night, Obama was asked about whether his experience in the U.S. Senate dealing with weather-related situations compares to Palins executive experience running the state of Alaska and as the small town mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.
My understanding is that Gov. Palins town, Wassilla, has I think 50 employees. We've got 2500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year we have a budget of about three times that just for the month, Obama responded.
Our ability to manage large systems and to execute I think has been made clear over the past couple of years and certainly in terms of the legislation Ive passed in the past couple of years, post-Katrina.

...and I suppose Mrs. Palin's experience of defeating not only the Republican corruption machine, BUT the Dem nominee, as well, wasn't "campaign experience."
Nobama, Nojoe, Noway
We can now officially put Obama’s picture next to the definition of “circular reasoning.” The “O” logo even fits.
“I am running because I believe I am qualified to be president; I am qualified to be president because I am running.”
Too funny....Does he think the Governor is a one person game??
Excellent! :-)
Exactly what legislation has HE passed?
I had to make sure this wasn’t from Scrappleface. He has the market share of stupid. He isn’t running against Mrs. Palin.
Just think, what is more difficult? Running a state half the size of the lower 48, or being a community organizer [fancy word for a nobody], a state senator who voted present most of the time, and being a first term US senator who was at work a total of 143 days?
I've got to hand it to McCain for picking Palin. Not only has picking her ticked off just about everyone in the MSM, she has weathered the initial onslaught and looks as good if not better than when she was first announced. Moreover, like you point out, all of the focus is on her and not McCain. All of which makes her look even more presidential than Obama, with the only exception being race. She's not black enough to be President.
That really is rich, his offering up his campaign staff and budget in comparison to Palin’s responsibilities as mayor, not as governor of Alaska.
Well at least he did not say he could raise his hand to calm the seas.

In effect he did! He said that he would,”Defeat climate change”, along with disease, poverty etc. etc. Note that he said nothing about man made global warming, he is going to defeat CLIMATE CHANGE, period. The climate has done nothing but change as long as there has been a climate on this planet but Little Lord FakeLeroy is going to put a stop to all that foolishness.
If she comes out and nails her speech tomorrow, as I think she will, the whole nation will be in awe of her.
I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but why did Anderson Cooper not challenge him and correctly point out that she is the current Governor of Alaska and is no longer mayor?
Our ability to manage large systems and to execute ....”
A bit of his ‘Secret Stalin Side’ slipping out?....LOL
Being governor gives you executive experience.
Running the White House is an executive position.
Obama has no executive experience.
Case closed.
It might also be noted that she was Mayor of Wasilla when she was 32. At that age, Obama was taking a year off in Bali to write his first autobiography, which recounted no particular leadership achievements to date, but some very good grades in school.
Love it! Obama, you go girl!
Does anyone remember (way back at the beginning of the primary season) when Barry was interviewed about his foreign policy experience? If I remember correctly, he referenced, as part of his experience, classes he took in college on International Relations.
And he has the audacity to question her qualifications?
Obama is a delusional idiot.
Palin should challenge Obama to debate on National TV.
She’d shred him, imho.
Things that make you say hmmmm...
Barry is comparing himself to the VP candidate of his opponent...
