(CNN) Barack Obama defended his experience in dealing with natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina, and took a swipe at newly minted GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
In an interview on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 Monday night, Obama was asked about whether his experience in the U.S. Senate dealing with weather-related situations compares to Palins executive experience running the state of Alaska and as the small town mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.
My understanding is that Gov. Palins town, Wassilla, has I think 50 employees. We've got 2500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year we have a budget of about three times that just for the month, Obama responded.
Our ability to manage large systems and to execute I think has been made clear over the past couple of years and certainly in terms of the legislation Ive passed in the past couple of years, post-Katrina.

Translation: "Sarah Palin is a far more efficient administrator than I am and the record shows it."
It has been a long time since I LAUGHED so loud!
LOL! His executive experience comes from running his presidential campaign...LOL. And actually, his campaign manager handles most of that!
LOL
Obe knows only how to run his mouth and is fearful of doers.
If he wants to pretend that she is still a mayor of a small town, maybe we should ask why some community organizer from Chicago is running for president.
What did Obama do during the Katrina disaster & recovery effort??? I know people who gave up their day-jobs to travel to the Gulf Coast to help with the recovery for weeks on end.
What did Obama do? Take a guided tour with some camera crews? Please!
Headline: Obama Smoking Peyote...
‘Cause that’s the only way he can claim to have more experience than Mrs. Palin...and forget that he’s not running against her, but John McCain.
Mr. McCain thinks like a Commander in Chief. Obama thinks like, dang I don’t know, DOES he think?
LOL Love the CNN title!!!! Game set match!!! So much for the “experience is off the table”
Well at least he did not say he could raise his hand to calm the seas.
I have more experience than Mr. Obama!
I'm glad the debate has shifted to our #2 vs. their #1. LOL
Keep it up Nobama! Focusing on the “lack of experience” is exactly what his advisors should NOT be advising! This will come back on “The Messiah” 10 fold! Not to mention that he’s, as you pointed out, comparing himself to the wrong person.
So, the only job he has had of any import has been running for office? And this is something he has done while NOT EVEN SHOWING UP for his current job? Obama is just another leech sucking at the taxpayer tit.
Alaska: Total employees state & local government (2005) 51,720
Shouldn’t he be comparing himself to McCain?

I am no political genius but I would imagine that the quickest way for Obama to lose is to do what he is doing and run against Palin. He should have congratulated McCain on his pick, ignored Palin and gone after McCain. The problem is Obama has no real record of his own to run on so he can only go negative.
A budget that he gets from other people and SPENDS in ludicrous amounts! Just imagine what he would do with the billions of dollars of OUR money!
“Obama claims to have more experience than Palin”
I cannot remember another election where I have seen one presidential candidate actively comparing his experience level with the opposing VICE-presidential candidate.
This is getting interesting...
