Wendy's manager shot over chili sauce

MIAMI --A manager at a fast-food restaurant was shot several times in the arm early Tuesday trying to protect the chili sauce, authorities said.

A man in the Wendy's drive-through argued with an employee because he wanted more of the condiment, police said. The worker told the customer that restaurant policy prohibited a customer from getting more than three packets.

The man insisted on 10, reports said. The employee complied, but police said the customer wanted even more.

The manager came out to speak to the man, said Miami-Dade police spokesman Mary Walter. The customer then shot the manager, who was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The customer fled in his vehicle with a female passenger, authorities said.

Now what makes me think there may have been more than one kind of ‘sauce’ involved in this story?

Was it the sauce or did he find a body part in it?

If this idiot will shoot a stranger over something as stupid as packets of sauce, he will shoot anybody over anything.

I hope they find this lunatic and get him off the street before anyone else gets hurt (or killed.)

When they outlaw salsa, only criminals will have salsa.

Wendy’s chili sauce isn’t that good. Maybe worth a spitball at most.

Why not give the customer some extra sauce packets at some fair price?

Your honor, this is a textbook case of chili sauce addiction. Obviously, the addiction makes him do whatever he can to get more chili sauce. He has no control over his own action.

Clearly, we need tougher chili control laws.

Unfortunately, that sort of criminality is rampant in specific sections of Miami/Dade County. It is not difficult to predict the stereotype car and driver involved. It's worth remembering that stereotyping does not originate from nothing; there must be some basis for the creation of the art. The often condemned practice arises from the demonstrated repetition of a demonstrable conduct by an identifiable sub-group.

Example: it would be difficult to find a group of Tibetan monks who highjack aircraft or plant bombs in subways; Eskimos who've surreptitiously sneak across our border, live in self-segregated neighborhoods and demand rights, priivileges and immunities under law in excess of those of U.S. citizens. It wasn't a group of Quakers who drove a suicide bomb laden truck into an encamped battalion of Marines in Beirut.

The sort of criminal conduct and quick-draw violence of this report is a stereotype that can be accurately predicted probably, uumm, let's say 90% of the time.

From another article:

"According to Miami-Dade police, just after midnight, a man was going through the Wendy's drive-through at 18181 NW 27th Ave. As he picked up his meal, he told the attendant he wanted extra chili sauce."

Knowing that neighborhood, there is a greater chance of the perp being named "Darnell" or "Latrell" than being named "Carlos" or "Jose."

See post #19. This was in the northern part of the county, which might as well all be considered Liberty City, in terms of demographics.

When I lived in Doral (west of Miami airport) we never had any problems. Affluent South Americans don't shoot folks over chili sauce.

The ghetto is the ghetto for a reason. The folks who live there have nobody to blame but themselves. Feel bad for the manager, however.

Unfortunately, by the twisted definition of the word today, this makes you a racist.

It’s about time we started telling the truth though and you did a swell job.
