If you spend any time in the cereal aisle, I don't have to tell you that the folks who make Pop-Tarts are always coming up with crazy new combinations of flavors. But you may not realize that for every new variety of toaster pastry that makes it to the greengrocer's shelves, there are dozens of experimental flavors that don't make the cut. Here are some concepts that were rejected, for one reason or another.
THERE ARE MORE! Please see More rejected Pop-Tart flavors.
How about "Pocket Lint 'n Minty"?
What, no sardines in mustard sauce?
Strangely, I'm feeling a little turned on by that ad.
Print it out and contemplate it.
Don't put pop-tarts in the toaster. They taste much better coming out of the microwave after 25 seconds.
I read that when they started selling Coca Cola in China they had to alter the name because strictly translated it meant "bite the wax tadpole".
That's as bad as trying to sell the Chevy Nova in Mexico.
In case you don't know, no va means it doesn't go.
For Eytalians there is the perrenial Pepperoni and Anchovies!
I was thinking of making a "Baked Ziti" flavor.
That Chinese cola sound like the poptarts I posted.
I often wondered about that one. The exploding star "nova" is translated into Spanish as "nova." It's a Latin word, although I suppose "nueva" could have been used.
But by similar reasoning, the Yugo should have been a tremendous success.
My mouth's watering!
Minty Hippo.
Actually I like them best assuming room temperature.
I HAVE to have iced ones, preferably with sprinkles.
My favorites are cherry, strawberry, blueberry, and brown sugar.
They have to be perfect, though. I don't like to open the package and find a chipped or cracked Pop Tart. I'll still eat it.
"Hillary Rodham Cottage Cheese Thigh"...
Cold pizza is a acknowledged breakfast food. I see no reason why Baked Ziti would not be a fine addition.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAargh!
