Internet Dating:
Meeting the Parents:
Now, for some fun questions to kick off tonights thread!
1. Have you been on a date with someone you met on the Internet?
2. Did the date go well? Did a relationship result?
3. Did you meet them on a dating site or elsewhere? Was it totally by accident or chance?
4. Do you have a funny, gross, scary, or otherwise entertaining internet dating story to share? Either one that happened to you, or someone you know.
5. Any funny or interesting meeting the parents stories?
6. Has meeting the parents ever caused a breakup?
7. And, finally, have you ever set up a backup scenario to get out of a potentially bad date?

Actually, that looks somewhat close to what I was doing. Not quite as dark green though.

Hi there Rocky! sorry I missed your visit, I was already in dreamland.
Interesting you found a good match on Match.com. I hear a lot of complaints about it here ~~ but really I have quite a few aquaintaces that have met awesome people through it that they are dating.
My neighbor is a blue colar ... but conservative & very bright who has linked up with a MA sales rep who travels the ocuntry. They both have good incomes & really are a tremendous match. Met her at his mom's funeral & a few other places.
They have been a couple for about 8 months & located about 8 miles apart. They are exploring the next steps with meshing of kids & pets.
I think the more mature you are in what your expectations are and the reality of what you offer will make a difference if you have good results with any dating site.
I would NOT go out with a man who will not share his home phone, cell phone numbers that I can reach him at. There would be an email getting to know you first.
I recall about 10 years ago when I was scanning some potentials at a site (dont even recall the name) I saw a man who was seeing the "Christie Brinkley" type.. went to his profile/pix & he looked worse than Michael Moore & stated his income less than 15K year.
I am sure all the Christie Brinkley types were beating down his door, weren't they?
Well, good to see you here & as you note, people come & go...

yes, that is a horror story. My sweet ex hubby pulled a cute on on me.
I as often as I can take care of my medical problems without professional help. dislike the waits & normally know what they will do/prescribe ... but When we became separated (I left)..I had a severe cat bite that severed a muscle, nerve, artery. I knew that I needed help here. I did have surgery. He called me BEFORE I went into the operation to tell me that he had canceled my health insurance. (this was about 5 days after I left)
Well, he had not, but just was being mean spirited.. but isn't that a nice thought to go into surgery with?
He did a lot of other things along the way the next year that continued to come back to me (stories spread at church etc.)
