Well, I need the hours. Since moving to the new shift, my pay has gone down some (no more evening overtime).

Poor Phil. Is your back just about broken now?
To: RockinRight; Hoodlum91; MountainDad
thanks for the ping rocky.. and the concerts sound "interesting". Since I am older than dirt & like Mannheim & Yanni.. your two groups do not "ring a bell".. but that is okay.
I am quite happy in my archaic way.
did you do site seeing today? DC is just loaded with treasures... historic, cultural, patriotic...
Mountain Dad from Nebraska.. just making sure you aren't feeling neglected!!!

Sounds like a plan!
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Well, my back is fine but I am pooped.
My department's getting chaotic, and I'm not sure why. It's so strange...it's like I work almost nonstop for two hours, and I don't get to seem that much done.
Add to that the fact that Deon, the store manager, has been on vacation for the past week. There's a real scare going on about how it's going to look when he comes back Monday.

Okay thanks. I know what happened and it was truly awful...so that's enough, because it's really not worth wasting any more time discussing.

Did the thread die?
Going to work on it tonight, but will still be FReeping while I do it.
First I'm going to raid the fridge. I haven't eaten since my lunch break at 3:30 (it's 11:15 here).

1. Have you been on a date with someone you met on the Internet?
YES!! on Match.com
2. Did the date go well? Did a relationship result?
YES, we dated exclusively for about 6 months, then I decided that he wasn't right for me (for many reasons) and we have just been friends since
3. Did you meet them on a dating site or elsewhere? Was it totally by accident or chance?
see #1! match.com
4. Do you have a funny, gross, scary, or otherwise entertaining internet dating story to share? Either one that happened to you, or someone you know.
not really anything interesting, only that I've learned that Internet dating isn't just for freaks anymore :-) There are actually normal people out there (yes, including my Dad) who do it, and it seems to work for a lot of us!
5. Any funny or interesting meeting the parents stories?
n/a
6. Has meeting the parents ever caused a breakup?
n/a
7. And, finally, have you ever set up a backup scenario to get out of a potentially bad date?
YES, but never used it. I guess I've been lucky (knock on wood!)

Heck,I was "jammin' to Yanni" earlier today!! "the song was "you only live once". No one else was here, and I had it pretty loud!!
I also like Mannheim Steamroller too-- along with a good number of electronic music groups.

Well this is not happening to me but my buddy that I've been hanging with since grade school, almost 30 years, met a girl online from Canada. He will be 41 next month and she is 25. They chatted online and he brought her down here to live. The things that concerns me is that he brought her to live with him and his mother without at least him going ng up to meet her a few time to see if she would work out. In short, he is the type where "he leaps before he looks."
To make the story more weird, she lacks job skills, can't hold down a job. She did get Hepatitis C from her former boyfriend who did drugs, she was treated for it in time and there is a strong chance for a cure (75%) but she has to take a last test to make sure she is OK. She told me this but not my buddy. His mom is on kidney dialysis
One thing that concens me is that I think he is tossing his life away, he does have money problems from time to time, sells things at flea markets and delivers newspapers. Although she helps him in that, she has no job to bring money in and my friend refuses to work at a place with a boss above him, wants to work for himself. I know I have money problems myself, but at least I have a steady, guaranteed income at a famous company and get up at normal hours, He goes to bed at 5 or 6 PM and gets up at 2 AM for the newspapers, it seems like he lacks a good life and we don't get together as much.
I know with free will and all, it is up to him to "have a come to religion" epiphany in life and it is not my role to dictate his life, it just hurts me to see im go down this route. I figure I would tlel the story here for the reaction as well as starting on topic for once.

I used to be a summer person...when I had central A/C. Now Im a winter person. I love freezing my a$$ off.
I live two floors up (might as well be in an attic) with a portable A/C contraption on wheels I like to call R2D2.
R2D2 is working at FULL SPEED at the moment.
Yah, know what you mean. I know I'm a product of a single parent when my parents divorced but one thing I've been spoiled with is A/C all my life. The house I'm in had it since 1964 and I was born in 1966. B-) Mom told me that she even had it in her 1953 and 1956 Fords.
I'd rather be cold than hot, at least I can put on something. At work, the room I'm in, the A/C is on so much, the temp goes below 60F. Even when it is 90+ here in Pittsburgh, I still take in my thick flannel jacket I use in fall and winter to keep warm.
