(Vanity) Lefty quotes from the past about Zarqawi

Here is a quick link of quotes about Zarqawi, from the past.

www.democrats.org from 1 year ago:

"The only way our enemies can succeed is if we forget the lessons of September 11 ... if we abandon the Iraqi people to men like Zarqawi "

CNN, Decemeber 16, 2005

"CNN Report: al-Zarqawi Caught and Released"

News Hounds (We watch FOX so you don't have to)
July 13, 2005: "In a news break during Hannity & Colmes, Page Hopkins (whom I STILL can't tell apart from Laurie Dhue) reported that yet another "top aide" to Al-Zarqawi has been captured. Comment: It's amazing how often the US catches his top aides and the top aides of Osama bin Laden yet we can never snag the actual main men. "

Informed Comment (blog of a Professor of History at the University of Michigan)

Friday, December 16, 2005:"CNN is reporting that Iraqi authorities had arrested Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian terrorist, in Ramadi, but mistakenly released him. Nic Roberts reported that Zarqawi had put on weight, grown a beard, removed a tattoo, and was using a Kurdish passport, making him unrecognizable to Iraqi security forces.

What I take away from this report is that if the Iraqis cannot recognize a Jordanian master terrorist, the American military has zero chance of fighting the Sunni Arab guerrilla movement in Iraq, because most of them don't even know enough Arabic to distinguish an Iraqi from a Jordanian accent. And if all it takes is putting on weight and growing a beard to disguise oneself, then we're in deep trouble."

These folks have doubts about al-Zarqawi's existence, or the role he played:

Project on Defense Alternatives "But the central role afforded Zarqawi, both in 2003 and now, is as tendentious as many of the other suppositions that undergird the administration's Iraq policy. The evidence offered to support the administration's assessment of Zarqawi as a driver of the Iraqi insurgency and top lieutenant of bin-Laden is reminiscent, in form and substance, of the spurious evidence regarding Iraq weapons of mass destruction. Indeed, some of the sources may be the same.

"

And in the same vein, the inimitable Daily Kos chimes in:

"It seems Bush's intelligence experts that were creating - er discovering - the Zarqawi audio tapes and creating - I mean intercepting Zarqawi's mail have decided it's time for the curtain call for Zarqawi.

Apparently, they noticed how played out and abused this Zarqawi propaganda had become. So, without claiming to have captured or to have killed him (since he was long-dead), they had to give a reason why there wouldn't be any more Zarqawi tapes. So they thought of a way to kill him off in the narrative, like writing an actor who has cancer out of the sitcom." [NOTE: see the hypertext link "Zarqawi is a hoax" on that page, too.]

To all the dimwit trolls, enemies of freedom, and assorted leftist fellow travelers:

Apologies are now being accepted at loading dock 4.

Thank you.

I invite everyone else to contribute their favorites too. Let's get a montage that Fox News or Ann Coulter can shove up the left's rear.

Cheers!

This little lame satire seems a little left, you would think.

Iraqi Officials: al-Zarqawi Bruised In Left Pinkie Finger

In a fantastic turn of events, coalition forces in a fierce battle have wounded Al-Zarqawi's left pinkie finger. Unfortunately, Al-Zarqawi left the scene and was not captured.

"Yes, it's true. We finally shot his left pinkie." Stated Donald Rumsfeld in a press conference, "This is a huge success for us and we are now one step closer to getting not only Al-Zarqawi, but also Osama bin-Laden."

"This is just another nail in their coffin." Stated President Bush in a national televised speech, "We are getting closer to finally capturing bin-Laden and Zarqawi. Without his left pinkie finger, he will be an easier target to hunt down. We are winning the war on terrorism."

Al-Zarqawi is now the man most wanted by the U.S. in Iraq, with a $25 million dollar bounty on his head.

"All these bombings and killing of innocent civilians mean only one thing." Stated President Bush, "That the terrorist and specifically Zarqawi is loosing ground. They are getting desperate. Sure, there were 4 or 5 bombings last week alone, but that just means they are desperate because we are winning. Doesn't it mean that?"

In other news, a customer at Wendy's is claiming to have found al-Zarqawi's left pinkie in the chili she purchased.

Imagine this...positive possibilities from editors of The Boston Globe:

http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/editorials/articles/2006/06/09/the_zarqawi_legacy/

"..If Zarqawi's successors dispense with his fanatical priority on butchering Shi'ites, the change would not only align the network they inherit more closely with Al Qaeda's parent organization; it could also reduce the sectarian violence in Iraq. Greater coordination of jihadist tactics with Al Qaeda would not make the struggle against Islamist terrorism any easier. But fewer killings of Shi'ites could enable Iraqis to begin stitching together a tolerable new social contract.

It may be that the sectarian vendetta Zarqawi set in motion has already gone too far to be extinguished soon. But Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki has taken the right steps to begin tamping down an incipient civil war. His release of hundreds of mostly Sunni Arab detainees who do not have blood on their hands and his appointment of defense and interior ministers reputed to be free of sectarian or militia allegiances suggest a sage realization of his government's need to reconcile Sunnis and Shi'ites..."

I saw that yesterday from another poster, and I reflexively laughed.......... because FReepers tend to be correctly humorous. And, supposing that that is from "South Park" which I have never seen, I don't get it.

I feel TERRIBLE!

PLEASE EXPLAIN!

LOL!!!

There is a character named Kenny who somehow gets killed in every show, and every time he gets killed they say: "They killed Kenny", then another character says: "Those bastards", or "You bastard(s)"
