We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! Movies enjoyed the past couple weeks & recommend to you if the spirit moves: The Sentinel, Inside Man; Thank You For Smoking; Take the Lead; Friends With Money. In the news: TomKat (Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes) had their love child, a daughter, this week. Have NOT heard if he actually did eat the placenta, like he said he would ( I do hope he was kidding) Tony Snow fans await his decision on Monday if he will be the new White House Press secretary
Happy Weekend at ATRW. As the Chair & his lovely bride wind down their second(or third or fourth?) honeymoon at the beach, those of us that remain at our humble homes will chat & share our news & our thoughts on love & life.
Post your short news items, issues of interest, links, and so on. All who advance the Cause are welcome.
LET'S ROLL!!!

What a remarkable woman Miss Lily is! And one evidence of that you can see by looking in the mirror. (((((Bev)))))
Thank you! She is remarkable. I just called and checked on her - her O2 saturation level is actually rising, but she continues in her deep, comfortable sleep. They will call me if there is a change. Although it is only 6:45, I am going to bed - I am beyond tired. Thank you all for your love and prayers, B
Tom Joscelyn brilliantly lays out a prior instance in which CIA agent Mary McCarthy, the leaker just fired from the CIA, entered the public record: her involvement in the bombing of al-Shifa, one of the targets in Sudan that the Clinton adminstration attacked in 1998.
As Joscelyn relates, McCarthy initially opposed the bombing of al-Shiva because she wasn't convinced that the intelligence linking Iraq, al Qaeda and the production of nerve gas at that location was solid. She later changed her mind, as the Sept. 11 Commission related, and joined in the assessment by Richard Clarke and others that nerve gas was being produced at al-Shifa under an agreement between Saddam's Iraq, which supplied the technical expertise, and al Qaeda. Joscelyn summarizes:
Now, of course, Clarke and Benjamin argue that: (a) the decision to strike al-Shifa was justified because (b) the intelligence connecting Iraqi chemical weapons experts to al Qaeda's chemical weapons efforts was sound, but (c) this doesn't mean that Iraq and al Qaeda had a significant relationship because (d) somehow this collaboration occurred without either party realizing that it was working with the other! Sound bizarre? It is.
In the lionization of Ms. McCarthy that is sure to come over the coming months, it will be interesting to see whether the Washington Post or any other news outlet mentions her involvement in the al-Shifa controversy.
Jocelyn's blog is: HERE.
Since I don't have time to follow the story in detail, I really appreciate your posting these nuggets you come across. Thanks!
Of all the administration employees no one has less influence and less inside knowledge than the press secretary.
The press secretary is not allowed to participate in any policy discussions, in any decision making process or in any execution of policy. No press secretary is ever told anything the administration does not want the press to know.
The media would go ballistinc if a press secretary ever told the press a lie. So if the administration doesn't want the press to know about something, the press secretary is kept in the dark. In fact if the press secretary is told about a decision and then tells the press they never let him know which advisors were for the decision and which were against. If Rice was against it and Rummsfeld for for it, the press secretary would never know.
The press secretary is given a daily book. This book is normally on the podium in front of the press secretary. It contains what the administration wants the press to know. In some cases the press secretary will not be allowed to report the administration position in his own words. When asked a question about a sensitive subject, the press secretary will be required to turn to the subject page in the briefing book and read that page word for word.
The press secretary is never allowed to say anything that might actually make news. If the administration wants to make news, the president, a cabinet member or a high ranking advisor will brief the press.
It is the most powerless, influenceless, and thankless job in Washington. It is a position where doing a perfect job will get you the recently removed press secretaries reputation.
I can't imagine anyone who has a syndicated radio show taking the job. It seems to me that the president had Tony's name mentioned for the jot to get Tony a milion dollars worth of free advertising for his show.
Morning all -
[I'm still on Danish time. Tomorrow - it's off to Calif for the week.]
Clarke really went out of his way to lie about a number of key points during his testimony to the 9/11 Commission and then they accommodated him by saying there was no collaborative relationship between Iraq/AQ.
There is a new book that sounds like a great read, for men and women alike.
Carrie Lukas new book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Women, Sex and Feminism, just dropped, and I predict that it will get all the feministas big panties in a major wad. Carrie has done her homework in this easy to read, all bases covered, truly pro-women, hot and pithy tome; and you need to fear, lunatic liberal ladies, because she has facts that are going to challenge your fiction.
This soon to be New York Times best seller, Mrs. Lukas shreds the lies which the female chauvinist pigs (FCP) have sold our nations fair ladiesIm talkin wood chipper style.
Mornin' to you!
Good morning. Today is annual flower buying day!

Moving close to success in Iraq IBD editorial
Well, the performance went very, very well...in the warm-up, the conductor spent some time ironing out some uneven, scary parts in the first work to be performed, then at the end of the warm-up he spoke movingly of the texts, the music, and Brahms's understanding of life's ultimate joy & hopefulness despite all its sorrows.
He even asked us to dedicate the concert to someone who we loved, and perhaps lost...I always connect with my father when I sing, so that had already happened to me.. He left to get ready, and our regular director gave us his usual pep talk, and that anchored us & connected us with past successes...
The audience was warmly appreciative of the music and our hard work.
For me personally, it was an excellent concert, as I overcome the places I'd had trouble with..
I am a different person than I was yesterday for having worked on, sung and performed this gorgeous music.
Oh, I'm so pleased for you it went well, Molly. We love classical music and have found over the last 20 years since we "discovered" it that the music has the power to change our moods and make us forget all our woes.
We were just talking the other day that we've been spending too much time lately watching television (Mr. Peach) or freeping (me) and need to spend more time reading and listening to music.
Congratulations on a successful evening!
I am so glad that things went well last night. It seems that both directors know how to bring a choir to its peak at just the right time and how to motivate in order to perform at your best. That is skill and professionalism. Good job.
Good morning, everyone!
The RATS will stoop at nothing, including the destruction of this country, to win back their power. This fall is a very important election.
That figures. Her name so far has been associated with every ugly leftist in politics today except Kennedy.
Backhoe has really pulled together the entire spectrum so that people like me, who is really behind on this story, can get semi-literate about all the connections the undesirables have with Mary.
Apparently at last year's Symphony Ball and Auction, a young music teacher won with his bid to conduct the orchestra..
He did that last night when we started to concert with a rousing "Star-Spangled Banner"...chorus, audience.. everyone standing and singing, and he did an excellent job!
