Good morning. Today is annual flower buying day!
Well, the performance went very, very well...in the warm-up, the conductor spent some time ironing out some uneven, scary parts in the first work to be performed, then at the end of the warm-up he spoke movingly of the texts, the music, and Brahms's understanding of life's ultimate joy & hopefulness despite all its sorrows.
He even asked us to dedicate the concert to someone who we loved, and perhaps lost...I always connect with my father when I sing, so that had already happened to me.. He left to get ready, and our regular director gave us his usual pep talk, and that anchored us & connected us with past successes...
The audience was warmly appreciative of the music and our hard work.
For me personally, it was an excellent concert, as I overcome the places I'd had trouble with..
I am a different person than I was yesterday for having worked on, sung and performed this gorgeous music.
