I'm 40, the cute girl from upstairs is 23. When she stopped by to commiserate about loud neighbors, we had a beer, went dancing, and then had sex. Afterward, she seemed weird and left abruptly. I wrote her a note, "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable, but I love you and look forward to seeing you again." She hasn't looked at me since. Where did I go wrong? -- Mr. Neighbor
Grateful as you may be to a girl for having sex with you, it's never a good idea to let on. You could've had a future with her -- the kind 40-year-old guys without handfuls of bling typically have with 23-year-old girls: jump-starting their cars, lugging their couches up four flights of stairs, and maybe catching a little action when there are no hot young guys to be found. You blew it, though, with "I'm a lonely sack of emptiness!" -- which is how "I love you" translates after one beer, one dance, and one roll in the sack. (You say "I love you"; she says "It seemed like a good idea at the time.")
We are.

Watch your language. This is a family forum!
It pains me that Bob Dylan participated in this worthless endeavor!
It is a total shame. There are precious few countries in Africa that are stable and functional. If the UN was worth a crap, I'd say they should quit spending money on COMPLETELY worthless endeavors and help Africa build some stable, capitalist, and governmental institutions. Instead, they would only make matters worse.
lolololololol
Thanks for getting the right idea: it's a joke, for pete's sake! ;-)
In an ideal world - we should move the friggin' UN to Africa and let them live there - withiin the starving people and the murdering thugs.
They live in their Park Avenue Apartments in NYC and forget what's going on out there. AND... Kofi Annan is from there. What has he done - besides tell the USA that it's OUR responsibility to do his job.
Lying sack of dog poop.

What makes you say that, O Wise One?
I can well imagine. He should have left off the "I love you" bit and just said I would like to take you out to lunch or something of that nature. Who knows, he might have been a great looking 40 year old guy. However, to come on with the "I love you" thing after one evening would be scary.
No argument from me. I just think he overplayed the significance of the dalliance, and that alienated her quickly. Everything else is a combo of commentary and humor. :-)
That's a fair interpretation, but I didn't even bother addressing that aspect. I don't think most folks did.
That they were both people of loose sexual morals is a 'given,' I think. It wasn't a matter of contention.
No worries. I've got it from the beginning. I've been amused this entire thread.
I'm a song and dance man - any good laugh is worth it. Laugh with me, laugh at me. It's all good, as I say. ;-)
I'm not going to hit you, but I'll be honest with you. Your good boy/holier than thou schtick is one of the major reasons you're lonely and alone. At some point a grown man has to realize that even good people make bad decisions. In your world those who give in to their lusts might be ruined for life, but the real world doesn't work that way.
