It is a total shame. There are precious few countries in Africa that are stable and functional. If the UN was worth a crap, I'd say they should quit spending money on COMPLETELY worthless endeavors and help Africa build some stable, capitalist, and governmental institutions. Instead, they would only make matters worse.
In an ideal world - we should move the friggin' UN to Africa and let them live there - withiin the starving people and the murdering thugs.
They live in their Park Avenue Apartments in NYC and forget what's going on out there. AND... Kofi Annan is from there. What has he done - besides tell the USA that it's OUR responsibility to do his job.
