All that great epic poetry after only 4 joints, and 2 hits of blotter acid.

So it remains, so it must be
That your telltale heart will not speak to me
Silence rules and is icy cold
I am warmed only by the memories that I hold.
Was it for nothing that I met you
After every day was through
And I quelled the sadness in your deep eyes
And spoke of love and summer skies.
And spoke of happiness I wanted to give
If only, if only, you would let love live.
I made it as clear as the morning sun
You are my love, my only one
The one who sets my heart on fire
The inspiration for my desire
The one for whom I'd gladly crash and fall
The one I'd give my everything and all.
Is your answer indeed forever no, and never again
To my plea, "Please be my love and best friend"
Were the kisses we shared all in vain
And that I felt with you your deepest pain
Were the evenings spent in endless talking
Meant for you to end up balking
When the crunch came and the choice was to be made -
Either to love or leave me dismayed.
In spite of making it as clear as the morning sun -
You were my love, my only one
The one who set my heart on fire
The only inspiration for my desire
The one for whom I would gladly crash and fall
And gladly give my everything and all.
So must it be, muss es sein?
I fell on my sword and gave everything of mine
Must it be that silence is your reply?
Till everything good inside me dies?
Shall my evenings now be spent in quiet
Though my heart is in eternal riot
And rages against what fate decides
And rages against what it now must hide
That it is clear as the morning sun -
You remain my love, my only one
The one who set my heart on fire
The only inspiration for my desire
The one for whom I crashed and fell
And now I am in stuck in a kind of hell
Where love does not live, but will not die
Where I must smile though I want to cry
Where I must carry on but live in the past
Where I must give up but hold on to the last.
Where I remain in your thrall
And the only one I'd give everything and all.
Regards, Ivan

I love that bridge Amy..Looks like an equally interesting train trussel behind I would love to post some of my pix.. I love neat train trussel bridges also. Mine aren't all together in a "bridge" file. when I bike, hike, take trips , kayak etc I take whatever is there often hundreds of photos per trip. Since I sometimes cant remember where the refrigerator is, I have a hard time remembering all of the pix in my several hundred gig.. but I will look.
I want to look up that bridge. I pass over the Kanawha river on the way to my son's.. if it is not to far I will go find it & shoot it..
I made 3 large macaroni salad for Sunday family /Sunday school picnic. i was a little nervous about it as I am pretty spastic normally & without sleep was trying hard to concentrate on not cutting off part of finger..
I made three different kinds. One traditional. One with cauliflower, lots of veggies, banana peppers & mega spice & the last with varied veggies, varied cheeses & the tiny little tomatoes and lots of Italian seasoning. If you make homemade macaroni salad it should taste different/better than deli, no?
Now making veggie soup also. Just cut up extra veggies & put in crock pot.. smells good (the garlic & onions)
Amy, have you talked with Lori?
oh, just kidding about not knowing where frig is.. one look at me will tell I have that one down pat!

"Ah, Bennington, Vermont! I have driven through there many times in my youth, especially in the fall. The foiliage is incredible."
I visited Vermont once about 15 years ago. We were there in October. It was beautiful ..... too bad that beauty is the home of all the 'wealthy Bostonians who built their second homes' there.
I'm happy there are a few conservative areas in California ..... I really don't want to move. :)

That bridge is so interesting. I hope you get by there to see and shoot it.
You made all those salads after posting that wonderful Finest Thread? Man ... I wish I had your energy.
I haven't talked to Lori, but I did hear from her. They lost their little dachshund last night. As expected she is having a tough time.
I hope she and PapaBear will make it to the Rally Friday night so we can discuss our trip to Ohio and West Virginia. We are both excited. I picked up maps and tour books but have tried to think of other things. We still have a two month wait. :)

Good evening, Tulip.
Thanks for sharing the Bridges of Madison County.
I thought bridge day would be kinda boring but I'm loving all of these bridges.
McKenzie River (Goodpasture) Covered Bridge in Lane Co., Oregon.
At 165 feet, the span is the longest covered bridge in Oregon still in daily use.
Lane County spent $13,154 constructing the Goodpasture Bridge and is still reaping the benefits of a good investment.

Thanks for the link, Dolly.
I have been to Ohio a few times but have never seen any covered bridges there. I guess I wasn't in the right area.
