Meet my brother Duane




Happy Brother & Sister Day




God gifted me with one sibling. A "little brother"... Duane now lives a very long distance but holds a very dear spot in my heart. Above he is shown with his wife Jamie. They have a wonderful loving Marriage. Much like POTUS/Laura.



In this photo Duane is shown with our Mom Eleanor who is now 86.( mom looks pretty good no? I understand it is due to the excellent caregiver) :)



Here Duane is shown with his daughter Shawna at her wedding last summer.

Brothers and Sisters
From where love came, we cannot see:
Perhaps, within us, born and bred,
Or taught to us at parent's knee,
Or instilled by God in heart and head.

Perhaps it sprang from some kind deed,
Which, long forgotten, yet has grown
To dazzling heights from one small seed
In the fertile soil of distress sown.

Respect rises up so far above
The pettiness of separate view;
Differences bow before a love
And friendship that is blood-bound,too.

May the bond between us stronger grow,
May I prove the fondness I confess,
Which my hand's service cannot show'
Nor my simple words ever express.

Oh, I just thought of something to post ..my brohter when I dressed him up... oh, boy ...he will kill me..luckily he lives so far away!

My grandmother with two of her 7 brothers and sisters.

BROTHERS & SISTERS

Brothers and sisters, three girls and three boys.
Together we'd laugh and we'd play.
Sorrows we knew were outweighed by our joys,
and we grew--each in our own way.

One moved to the east, some ventured out west,
one never strayed too far from home
(he was the loner, withdrawn from the rest)--
the youngest continues to roam.

Brothers and sisters we always will be,
though miles may keep us apart.
All those who know us can quite plainly see
we're brothers and sisters at heart.

I've posted this picture before; some people may get tired of seeing it. :)

I'm the oldest; I lost one sister in an auto accident when she was almost 18. She was 18 months younger than me.

You can see my mother holding my youngest brother in the picture. I think she was trying to hide. :)

Lori.. what a nice pix of you & "lil br"... how many miles/hours away are you from each other?.. I think Duane & I are about 1000 miles.. wait I 'll check ...almost forgot about this DRIVING DISTANCES QUICK

We are only about 3/12-4 hours apart. Not a bad drive actually. I should go over there more often, but with schedules and work, it's hard to get away.

That photo was taken in 2001 and, unfortunately, I've only seen him twice since then. :-(

Sorry to disappear so abruptly; the pre-school called and said Marissa had gotten some wood chip dust in her eyes and she had been crying for 1/2 hour.

After picking her up, I took her to her doctor's office to be checked. Her eye was irritated (maybe from rubbing it) but there was nothing in it. They prescribed some antibiotic ointment as a precaution.

I didn't wait for the ointment because we needed to get Marissa registered for kindergarten betw 1:00 and 3:00. After taking care of that, we came home to grab some lunch.

Now we will drive back to the drug store (about 15 miles) to pick up the prescription.


Whewwwww .... what a day this has been. :)
