"We'll need to send the zodiac boat out for IA."

We may need to send a helicopter to airlift him out of the mud and/or water.

Here's a President's Day poem from last year...

Presidents Day:

The presidents, historically, may all just come and go,
And some of them are very good, and some are not quite so.
Some remember their backers, and try to please that group,
And some are leaders of the land, so all are in the loop

We honor all of them, in various different ways,
For some there are libraries, and others have their days.
And some are on the money, and some the other way,
And some there are who really weren’t worth their pay.

I like to think the current guy, is having a good time,
And that he takes it easy now, forgets about the slime,
Those nagging nibblers at his feet, who gnaw to get his post.
They think they can unseat him, by who can chew the most.

Take the day off, W, you’ve earned a day of rest.
We’ll watch the bastions, and ba$tards too, and we’ll keep you abreast,
Of current issues troubling us, and what you ought to do.
I couldn’t be as calm as that, thank God that I’m not you.

I’m half the man that you are, you’re twice as much to me,
And that is why your Nickname is a double dose, I see.
Take the day off, Dubya, it’s President’s Day you know,
You’ve got some capable minions, and they can run the show.

We hope to hear your rhetoric, and see your boyish grin,
When that ketchup-covered “war hero” gets to take it on the chin.
So put your feet up and relax, and give the dog a pat,
When you give the word tomorrow, we will all know that’s that.

Good afternoon, Victoria. Great Graphic.

Nice to see you today. Do you have any music for a rainy Monday. (Rainy Days and Mondays?) Is that a song title?

Hope you've had a good day.

So far, we have escaped the latest storm. The National Weather Service is issuing weather alerts every few minutes.

Southern California is being hit hard as I'm sure are some areas of the valley. Scary clouds all around.

Glad you got here, Meekie. Hope your Monday was wonderful.

..... if we get hail, all of our almond, apricot and peach blossoms will be on the ground.

We have been seeing warnings for hail, rain and high winds scrolling across the tv screen. Isn't this the way it so often goes? As soon as the trees start blooming a big storm comes and rips all the blossoms off. This doesn't bode well for our almond and fruit growers, or for us when we go to the grocery store.

Excellent!!

I don't remember seeing that one. It is definitely worth a rerun.

How was your weekend, NnB? Have you made it home or are you still in the library?

Hope you have a great week.

Seems like this is a repeat of every year. Is it my imagination or are the trees blooming earlier this year?

I have daffodils and ranunculas ready to bloom. Probably about 10 days; the buds are large but haven't started to open yet.

If the ground dries, I will try to get some pictures of orchards in bloom. They are so beautiful; mostly almonds now.
