Hidden Watchers
In Winter we can be content,
Or choose to have our time misspent.
The frozen river makes a path,
Where hidden watchers take their bath.
With patience, all the fish look up,
Now safe within their egglike cup.
The silvered light shows fleeting sights,
More fleet of foot than insect flights.
Unblinking in a staring sleep,
Does boredom cause the fish to weep?
Then who would know, or choose to care,
For tears of those who cannot share?
So shelter not too snugly down,
But stir out and go see the town,
Though chills may sometimes come to creep,
Youll have more fun than fish who weep.

I've joined the Army in time of need.
When bad men do not pay our heed.
They've attacked us with no provocation.
Made war upon our peaceful nation.
I walk along now fighting them.
They do not fight like normal men.
They kill all sorts of innocent.
On hunting them my time is spent.
Some day I'll be home and see my folks.
Until then the enemy provokes.
I will not rest until victory.
A terrorist can have no plea.
Thanks to all the service members protecting us.

I haven't written poetry for years. Took a couple of classes and dabbled here and there. I would like to start again. I know that one was ameture, but it will improve with time.

We enjoy poetry, jokes and sharing life's experiences.
I do not write poetry but I enjoy it and like to provide a place for everyone to get away and relax.
