She may be well qualified to be the next President, but has anyone else noticed that little quiver in her voice? It just does not build a sense of security.
She may need some bombast lessons from Ted Kennedy.
Yeah, I have a special place in my heart for them.
Even better when they post a thread that draws massive flack barrages, and then they post elsewhere as if nothing happened.

You're so right. Pro-abortion would be a problem for me in voting for Condi, or anyone. However, I haven't heard her address this in her own words. I like her so much. It would be a pity of she was in Hillary's column on abortion.
Mark my word. Hillary is going to spend the next four years demonizing and painting as stupid and simple anyone who opposes abortion.

But as for Dr. Rice: If you watch her speak you do not notice the quiver in her voice as much as if you only hear her. She does have a slight quiver, but I think it is just her voice. she always has it, and this is not a nervous woman. JMO ;)
I strongly disagree. She can and very well may be nominated as a Republican, but she could never be nominated by the Democrats. They want to keep "them" down and dependent. That's why I believe we're going to see a massive shift in the black vote over the next 10 years.
The minority community will finally remember what party Abraham Lincoln helped found, what party the first President to invite a black person to dine at the White House belonged to and what party actually fought FOR civil rights legislation in the 50's and 60's, rather than filibustering it.
Also, in addition to screwing up the phrase "she'll could" your sentance structure is reversed. Logically it would be "never nominated, let alone elected."

I see you're getting attacked, but you're right. She always does have a slight, occasional quiver in her voice.
But I listened to her on C-Span yesterday, and she's got to be one of the most interesting speakers around these days. I loved it when she was giving her closing thoughts and talked about the days right after WWII up until the present day--and the strategies taken by the leaders.
(And that quiver disappeared too when giving her own personal views of historical events, I noticed. Maybe when speaking for the entire U.S. in her Cabinet position, when every word has huge consequences for many nations, the weight of it all causes that occasional quiver.)
I would rather listen to her than anyone else in government right now. What a wealth of knowledge and history in her mind!

[The Secretary is a world class person on a new stage; how would you like to go to work the first week and have every word you stated and every move you made photographed and analyzed by the world press? Me thinks your voice may quiver a bit too, lets give her a little time.]
Not to mention, imagine having to do this after a contentious confirmation hearing where you were publicly (and falsely) branded a "liar" by political opponents whose only aims were to smear you and, by inference, the President?

Me too, though Dick has stated very forcefully that he has no plans to run. I believe his exact words were... "Not just no, but hell no!" I also think that Condi Rice is too smart to be swallowed up in politics. I don't think she'd be willing to try and kiss everyone's ars like a successful politician apparently must do. My gut feeling is that she has no interest in being POTUS, or at least no interest in stooping that low. :)
Tragic, really, in that she and Dick Cheney may be the two most qualified people in Washington today, and I don't think either of them would put up with the garbage that comes with the job.
