This is a very urgent prayer concern from a chaplain serving in Iraq:
As a transportation battalion, my unit will be delivering the voting machines and the ballots to villages and cities throughout Iraq during the upcoming elections. (January 30/31) Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents because they do not want the equipment to arrive at the polling stations nor do they want the local Iraqi citizens to have the chance to vote; timely delivery must occur so that the elections occur. Encourage your friends and family members and those within our churches to pray specifically for the electoral process. Historically, the previous totalitarian regime would not allow individual citizens to vote. Democracy will not be realized in Iraq if intelligent and competent officials are not elected to those strategic leadership positions within the emerging government; freedom will not have an opportunity to ring throughout this country if the voting process fails. Announce this prayer request to your contacts throughout your churches, neighborhoods, and places of business. Those with eadership roles within the local church post this message in as many newsletters and bulletins as possible. There is unlimited potential for God's presence in this process but if we do not pray then our enemy will prevail (See Ephesians 6:10-17)
Scripture here
Hi FRiends! I'm home safe and sound. Mamadixie is better today. The change of meds and shots yesterday helped a lot. Turbojet is better too and went to work today. We have an ice storm coming this evening, so I may not be around again. Waaaaaaah! Y'all have fun!
These are the CUTEST pictures and so is your presentation of them! I especially think 'the view from down here' is priceless! That and 'looking just like' the grownup iceskaters. And she and that darling little friend in the long red gown. And throwing snowballs, and....and... all of it! :)
We've got to keep praying and praying hard that nothing they do is going to stop this election from going forward. Why can't their bombs backfire and blow up when they're all by themselves? :(
Their bombs can blow up on themselves. There was a battle in the old testament where the enemies of the Jews became confused and attacked and killed each other. It can happen again.
Heavenly Father, We ask for revelation on how you want us to pray for this situation. I ask that you will use this opportunity to get the good news of the gospel to these people so that they might have the opportunity to have life abundant in you. I ask for protection for the workers that you are sending to these people. Father I ask for protection for the election workers and for those who are working to bring about this election. I ask that that your righteous people will be raised up in the land. I ask for freedom to worship you in spirit and in truth. I ask for your grace, mercy, and loving kindness to be poured out on these suffering people. Father I ask that you protect our loved ones that have gone to help these people. I ask that you will bless those with an extra measure of grace, mercy, and your loving kindness who have lost loved ones or good health due to their service. Father I lift up our leaders to act in wisdom. I ask that you will meet the needs of our leaders so that they might have the freedom to do the job you have for them. Pour out your wisdom, grace, mercy, and loving kindness on our leaders. In Jesus name, Amen.
Here is a graphic for Marissa:
What an adventure for her, Amy. You did a great job telling the story with these pics! She is just a living doll.
Thank you. We had a great time in DC. Marissa can be an angel at times but she does have her moments. Ask Lori. :)
The snow slowed us down for one day. Other than that we saw the town.
I posted a picture of the cheese fondue twice. Well .... the one I intended to post wasn't that great anyway. :)
A wonderful prayer, PAL. These people have endured so much pain and tragedy and fear for so long, it just has to be time for more in their lives than that.
Thank you, Billie.
I'm sure she will remember her trip to Washington, DC even tho she missed seeing the President.
It was fun telling her story and sharing her pictures with everyone.
I've really enjoyed going over this thread.
Marissa, you and all of the ladies looked like you had entirely too much fun during your trip to Washington.
Amy, you look just as I envisioned you would.
Thanks for making my day, Billie.
LOL, kids wouldn't be kids if they didn't have those moments. Marissa reminds me of my great niece, Ashley. They look about the same age. Was hoping so much that Ashley would be at the Ball, but she wasn't able to go.
Thank you.
We enjoyed our trip and I enjoyed sharing our story with you.
Hope you will be able to join us in DC in '09.
Ohhh .... I wish Ashley had been there.
Marissa is five. She is already asking when she is going to see her new friends again. :)
I don't think she can comprehend "four more years". LOL
I do too. I was scheduled to work just part of Inauguration Day and then they ended up working the whole day. Missed out on all the activities but watched replays on C-SPAN
Yep ..... a super duper remote for Zotcall box.
It is like the red button that the president has available. :)
Thank you for coming by to share our DC adventure.
We had a great time and are hoping to do it again in '09.
Hope you are having a delightful day.
"Marissa Goes to Washington" couldn't have been a sweeter story in pictures - she is such a beautiful little girl!
